Can a 91+ grill be put on a 90 - truck?

Can a 91-93 grill be installed onto a non IC truck? I can't see anything that would prevent it thinking through the steps. Thought I would ask as I am sure someone has done it! LOL

Well my son and I installed a '93 grill on his '90. However we installed a '96 engine in the truck and picked up the core support, inter-cooler, etc for the job. So I'm not sure if the the '90 core support would be compatible?

Headlight position is different. Ibelieve the later core support is also bowed outward across the top.

My brother and I retrofitted a '92 CTD into a 1986 D-250. He also used the core support from the '92, and grille, so everything bolted up. There is a couple of inches difference in the height of the headlights between the '86 & the '92. The '89 trucks were the same as the early trucks but I'm not sure about the '90. Don't know if this helps.

I don't think so, Bschwarzli. IIRC, the screw holes on the top, as well as the headlight slots are not aligned proplery. The whole support is that much different. You could find a support out of a later model gas rig, though.

the core supports are different, the addition of the intercooler in 91 cause the design change of the grill and core support, personal opinion, the 86 to 90 model truck prettiest truck ever built

I'm not sure what you're up to, but a later gasser model uses the same grill, and has the changed radiator support... ... I upgraded a '90 model I had to the newer grill, after a deer took up "Suicide is Painless" as his theme song... ...

I installed a 93 grill on my 89. was not easy. the head light have to be relocated and use a diff mount asy. Best bet is to use the 93 rad support and go from there... . I'm torn the 87-89 looked tough until you install the banks intercooler kit like I did. thats where the 93 grill hid it better.

Thanks for the info! Same thing. Love the factory grill but not fond of the tube grill from Banks. Then I love the later grill better.
