NO its cut down to fit the Marlin the guy that we got it from in CA (im going to hear it now) and has made a bunch of our stuff. He's hunted with us for a few years and product testing was one things that the people we rode with in CA did for him The scabbard mounts to the rig on the other side I found that sliding off the WRONG side of the horse with rifle in the other hand was better for me

No i'm a right ie but cant get off of Daisy fast landing on the bum left leg. I mount from the wrong side to. I just have never had the leg strength in my left one to do it.



I took your advice and practiced the move until my butt got sore but it become pretty natural feeling (Not the sore butt ) but getting off and having the Marlin in position fast. I don't wear a gun belt so I like to have a hand gun and found that this works good as its not actually my first line of defence.

BIG, Sounds to me like you are Good To Go! A good saddle! That was my tough issue. My old saddle would flat out give me extreme pain in my back and legs. It was well used when I bought it. It was set up with a double cinch, breast collar and britchin' strap, fer hill climbin'. It worked but was very uncomfortable on a long ride!

Gave all my tack away, after I sold my Mule!

An over-the-shoulder scabbard for the carbine will allow both hands free! GOOD idea!

Not sure I would be comfortable with the resolver in a saddle holster. As long as that works for you? Thats what counts!

Wasn't to sure about the different style cantle (seat back) my other one was higher and it felt like it gave me more support but after trying a Bud's ride (he's into mules also)the lower seat didn't give me as much support but back didn't seem to get sore on steep up hill climbs. Just like anything else ya have to put a few miles in it to contour to my butt.



I thought about having my old one rebuilt but the saddlery said take it out and shoot it. It has served a useful life put it to sleep.



The scabbard goes on and off fast so I can leave the mules and take a gun. The bear grass up in the mountains gets real slick so having both hands is a BIG+



I got more of a horse saddle because Daisy is not like a regular Mule (not as thick) Her dad was a real thin animal and her mom was registered 1/4 From Frank Vessels stock so shes built more like a horse with BIG EARS

She's been around for a while shes 14 next month so she's listen to allot of stupid I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER from me. As long as I sing to her on trail once in a while and give her apples / carrots and a HOME BREW she's my Girl the wife says I think more of Daisy than I do of her. MAYBE SOMETIMES :-laf
