Let's wait and see how it works. Remember the Lincoln Marks's of the late '80's? Once the air suspension went bad, the next stop was the scrapper.

While in Canon City, CO. last week I saw and looked over very well several new 3500 chassic cabs with RV type hauler beds and air ride suspensions. The install looked great and very neat.

Yes, but those were those blasted computerized air struts. Tangled with those on my '97 Eldorado.

The 1/2 ton air ride shown in the 2013 promos appears to have regular rolling lobe Firestone or Goodyear air bags, and if they leave all of the trick ride height features to the leveling valve it should be a far more reliable set up.

The drawing I saw the other day looked just like the Firestone aftermarket kit that has been available for the 4th Gen 1/2 tons right along.

So for 3/4 and 1 ton trucks, if Dodge sticks to tried and true technology, the rolling lobe bag with a 4 link or even better the drop leaf air ride scaled down Class 8 Hendrickson that the F-450 ambulances are using right now will be a fine choice.

Just imagine the ride and being able to dump the suspension to aid in hooking up a trailer... . Woo Hoo... :D

Mike. :)

I'll stick to my Kelderman air unit. Total beef. Love to see peoples' reaction when the pressure valve bleeds off when I start it up.

I have a Kelderman air ride suspension on the rear of my 2004 3500. It works great, heavy load or empty. I dont know why a similar system would not work on a manufactured pickup truck. Air ride is standard on most of the class 8 semis on the road today.

Push back from the bean counters probably, although plenty of people seem willing to pony up for the Cummins upgrade. Seems like the smart marketing move would be to offer a legit heavy duty air suspension option for the 2500/3500 HD units first, then include the non-HD trucks if the demand justifies it.

@Bob4x4

You make it sound like that's a bad thing... ;-)

Lol I fit into that category myself. I am just saying its pretty hard to sell a 60 k truck to the average consumer
