A far cry from today those 4x5 linhof cameras weighed in at a ton and the richness of Film vs Digital is noticeable. It was an art form now anyone with enough time and computer can make it look good. look up Ansel Adams he took 4x5 Fine Art Photography to what it is ART. Those Ziess lenses are sure sharp also Nice Pic's Mike thanks

I thought that they were pretty nice shots.....

The lack of eye and ear protection is apparent. We buck rivits in the trailer shop and I can't imagine doing it without something stuck in your ears... that is what the man and woman are doing in the shot of the nose cone.

Thanks for the photos. This is why they were called the Greatest Generation in America.

Could you see anybody farming like that last couple in these photos today?

Amazing how every last one of the women and most of the men in those photos were thin and in shape. Photos taken on a typical jobsite today would consist of 'The Biggest Loser' contestants!

Absolutely fabulous pictures. Let us not forget the generation that built our great nation. We should all take heed and lesson.

People used to work back then. Most still lived on the farm. And qtr pounder, supersized pop, etc werent invented yet.

Damn thought I was the only one that thought like that. Moms to F in lazy to get up and fix breakfast/lunch/dinner kids pay the price just to easy to stop at Billy Mac's and get some grease to go and then cry about it because little Johnny cant fit into size 44 pants at 13years old.
