Never hook to a trailer before you check it out.

Howdy all,

The DW and I are making our annual August run to OR. We are leaving AZ on 8/4 and will be staying near Panguich, UT that night, Rupert, ID onth 5th, and Umatilla, OR 6th through 10th. Trip back we'll be staying near Three Island SP, I

ID on the 11th, Salt Lake, UT on the 12th, and finally Zion NP, UT 12 th through the 15th.

If any of the TDR family will be in any of these areas, let me know.

Gene.

If you are just blowing and going then have a good time. Hopefully you won't have a head wind crossing southern Idaho. However if you are not in that big of a hurry just south of Rupert is a place called City of Rocks that is an interesting place. The oregon trail went thru there and split also I believe the exposed Granite is the oldest in the states. I think they built a new rv campground there too. If thats too far out of the way in Twin Falls there is a bridge that basejumpers go off of everyday the wind isn't to bad and from there look east to a hill in the desert. That was where evil knevil did his thing also alittle further up the canyon is shoshone falls on the snake river. Taller than niagra. This was as far as the salmon could come up from the ocean. This is running long but there is much to see in so. id.

Just across the river in Hermistion is Plymouth Campground... its a Corp of Engineers camp ground and if you have a senior pass the cost is just $12, a very nice place...

Just below McNary Dam.

Have seriously considered staying at City of Rocks. Maybe next trip. It's an annual trip to Hermiston to visit family and I try to break up the travel time and distance into manageable bits. I am getting to old to drive all day and prefer to have time to set up the trailer do a little exploring and relax before hitting the road. Plus I have learned to slow down when towing. Each year I try and talk the wife into taking a longer vacation and spend more time exploring and enjoying. If it were up to me, I would only drive 4 or 5 hours a day and spend more time playing. :)

We will be staying at Hat Rock. It's a nice little campground, but I'm always looking for a new experience and will make a trip over the river and check Plymouth out.
