In my 43 years of driving I have never had a Michelin tire fail, and it is the most likely tire to be on my vehicles.
I had a pair of BFg's fail, and almost all of the uniroyals did too.
One vehicle, a work truck, dual wheels, that weighed in on the rear axle at 6600 lbs, ate up uniroyals.
i was talked into them by an employee and his friend at a tire shop. Load range 'd' and run at the tires max of 65lbs.
when the second one blew out with only a month and maybe 3,000 miles, the dealer told me I was running them under inflated!!! The max was 65 on the sidewall. Then he told me I had to run them at 80! ( even though he inflated them to 65 when installed).
i told him if he wants to inflate them to 80 it was his choice but I was not going to over inflat a tire. If he did and an accident happened, I would own his shop.
Well he set them to 65 and another month passed and two more failed. he said he has NEVER seen one failure and I had 4. ( I didn't believe him). The employee involved was the only driver too.
I threw them away and put michelins on it, same 'd' rating and finally wore them out 45,000 miles later.
I was disappointed to find a good tire maker like michelin bought a junk tire maker.
I am trying Yoko's on my 05 dodge.
