I looked in the FAQ. I searched here. I seem to remember a problem with 3rd gen cl lamps leaking and possibly a recall/ campaign. After all this time mine have started to leak. I got water from the Visor clip. I'm not interested in getting aftermarket clear ones. I like stock. Who has the details? Is there a kit?

There was no recall but Dodge redesigned them after a couple of years because of all the leaks. You can get a set of lenses with the new style seals on eBay fairly cheap or you can go to your local dealer and get them for a few bucks a piece more.
I installed the 2010+ clear lenses with amber bulbs but you can also get the amber housings - they're both shaped exactly the same as the old ones so no new holes or wires are needed.

I thought I read along the way about different holes. I definetly don't want to make more holes!! So they're all the same to the present? Just a gasket redesign?

What bulbs go in these? Mine just burnt out.

I just read about this elsewhere. They look like 194's but they're brighter. I think it's 168... . Hey you're the one with the new-to-you dually... Good luck! See if you have the leak before you take it apart.

With the "updated" lights Dodge says to use a different "nut" - a plastic insert that goes into the roof to accept the screw. I have a set but haven't installed them yet so I don't know if you really need it. You can tell the newer style because you can see the black gasket around the bottom edge of the light. Shad

I think I see what u mean... There's a 1500 in my area I looked and saw the black around the bottom...

I bought the upgraded/updated lights from a Dodge dealer on EBay. I had my choice of amber lenses or clear. I like how the clears look on my truck, which is silver. The new style plastic nuts fit right into the holes already in the roof of your cab. No modifications are needed. I am anal, so I added a drop of silicone sealer to each nut when installed as well as each screw. I've done this before and found no real issues removing screws later for bulb replacement. If using amber lenses, I believe the bulb is #168, if you opt for clear lenses as I did, teh bulb number is 194A, the "A" is for amber. I think I picked up a;; five for around a buck at my local parts house. Look at my pics and you should be able to see the lights.

The clear lenses use a 168NA (amber lenses use 168) which is a bit more narrow than a 194.
At night they look just like my old amber lenses and are just as bright.

FYI:
194 = 25 lumens
168 = 38 lumens

Just to update. I just ordered the set from Fullerton Dodge. There was a tech note the parts dude read to me supporting all thats been said here. They were 11. 99 ea. X5. While I was there, I sprung for a new rear door harness as the wires keep breaking @ the hinge point. THAT was expensive... I took a stroll around the stock looking at Durangos, Darts, and one Ram. It was a pat. blue 2500 mega CTD. The sticker said $58,xxx. I just turned away... :confused:

I have the black gasket that you can see the light cover sit on and the plastic nuts on my 06 and it still leaks..... that is the new version???I saw some on the internet and the gasket looked like it was inside the edge of the lense, not exposed... . maybe i just need to silicone my screws????
