I'm wondering why Ram is waiting till January to release their numbers on towing and payloads if they are making the trucks available now. Just courious.

According to the article by TDR Editor Robert Patton on the TDR website homepage, 2013 RAM Heavy Duties won't be available until sometime after 1-1-2013.

Waiting is a numbers game, Ford just bumped their payload numbers without doing much other than making the brakes "FEEL" better and slightly bigger brakes. Ram probably has a lot of room to move numbers, they just don't want to reveal ALL they have available.

My local dealer is saying that they are holding off on releasing the 13's until all the 12's are sold. Maybe march before you can get one, a 13. I'm now really sorry that I didn't wait for a 13.....

If the 13's are as good as they are saying, the 12's will be hard to get rid of without large rebates being offered because everybody will be holding off till the 13's come out to buy the better truck!! I'm going to wait for the 13 MY before I trade or sale my '98.

I can't bring myself to sell my 98 12V. I keep it around for the dirty stuff. Want to keep the "Limo" in new condition!

If you bought a 2013 you would say the same thing about not waiting for a 2014, this is the Auto Business, every year they want you to have to have one, been this way for a hundred years, and won't change, the 13 will be better than the 12, and the 12 was better than the 11, my 2012 does what I want it to, so no new truck for many years, or never, I may buy a Diesel Pusher in a couple of years or so, if I do no more 5th wheel, and the Ram goes also.

I drule on the new ones, but I keep telling myself that my '05 is paid for and it does everything I need it to do. It is simple enough that I can work on it and don't have to worry about voiding the warranty. I really love my '05 and I cannot imagine how much I would enjoy a '12 or '13.

The simple reality for me is that I CANNOT aford one of the new ones and the '05 is still all that I need.

Your post perfectly descibes my sentiments about the new trucks..... my 2nd gen still runs great, looks good, and has all the mods I want/need and just hit 100,000 miles. My problem is that I can afford a new truck and I live just a few blocks from a Ram dealer..... what to do.....

Go sit in a Longhorn then test drive it then sign the papers! That is what I did and I love it!

I'm with Ram4 Sam. I can afford a new one but don't really have a good reason to get rid of the 04. 5. Decisions--Decisions!!

Thankfully:rolleyes: the 2013's won't be available for a few months..... I need a cold shower.....

Sam

I had to take several cold showers after trying out a 2012 Laramie Crew this summer.

Everytime that I get in the '06 with it's gray plastic dash and canvas seats my mind goes back to that day... My wife was with me and was equally taken with the new interior.

Waiting to see if the DEF is going to do what I think it will for the fuel mileage... .

Mike.

That is exactly what I am afraid of... ... .
