Trailer Plug in BED

Just getting back to TDR after long absence. Had a 94 5. 9 5speed 3500 DRW. SOLD it like a dummy. Now own a 2012, 6. 7, 6 speed manual , 3500 DRW Regular cab.



Looking for a real Plug and Play trailer harness for inside the bed plug. I have a receiver hitch and trailer plug on the bumper. Just want the T type , with a male and female T that plugs into the truck trailer wiring harness , with a 6-8 foot long extension with receptacle attached(already wired) to install in the bed for trailer.



Would appreciate any specific info , Maker / Brand , Part numbers , where to buy .

Chrysler makes a 7 pin that can be mounted to the inside of the bed. It just plugs into the existing wiring.

This is an honest, reliable internet vendor from whom I've bought lots of parts.

Call or double check this to make sure it fits the 2012 models.

The complete harness came with the new Reese hitch for my 2012 last year. Harness may be available as a part.

Be aware that the "plug and play" harnesses for the 4th generation trucks use the same 7-pin connector at the bumper end as the Fords and GMs. I made the mistake of buying one with a Dodge connector where it taps into the factory 7-pin connector - it didn't work on my 2011!!

They installed one on my Dad's 2012 at Dave Smith in Kellog, Idaho. I assumed it is a Chrysler product it was plug n play.

I agree with Harvey, I've used etrailer.com for a lot of items over the past few years... . and purchased the exact kit your asking for. for several other vehicles, all were reasonable in price and installed correctly. .

Go to the dealer and get the part you need. I ordered my truck and got the harness from the dealer. Of course I had to have it installed. Just plugged in to the wiring under the bed by the bumper. Tok longer to drill the hole than it did to install the harness.

Called my local dealer , parts dude said that is some kind of aftermarket part number. He says Dodge does not have a plug and play in bed harness. Thanks anyway

That is what I get for ASSUMING!

He did say the one in the bed is not as thigh as the factory plug in.

I just hang my cord over the tailgate and plug it in. I do put a piece of blue tape along the top edge of the tailgate to protect the paint.

Earlier Dodge trucks used a different connector. etrailer and others have harnesses available for the pre-4th generation trucks, but they are different than the 4th generation harnesses because of this connector configuration difference.

BARGMAN Part # 51-97-410 is what you want for a 2012 harness and PROBABLY 2010-2013 (but do your own research)

I bought mine on Ebay for $80 including shipping from ecustomhitch seller, pricey , but not too bad when you consider true plug and play , installed in 30 min. and no hassle , no soldering , nothing else needed , and a neat install

Evidently Bargman rebrands these harness' and sells them to Reese, Hidden Hitch, and Draw Tite as I found they sell em too , with the SAME PART NUMBER as Bargman.
