Truck Island Pumps, Filtered at the Pump?

Check your Spare

I rarely shut the truck off when refueling, especially in winter. Today, while filling the truck a woman on the other side of the pump saw it necessary to inform me that filling my truck while it was running was "stealing. "

They're out there folks. And they vote.

Im pretty surprised she wasn't angry about how loud and smelly your truck was. . I get that all the time... . I basically stopped filling up anywhere that doesn't have a separate diesel island, but the ferd owners can be just as bad... hahah

We are rural enough I can pull up to any island and people dont even look twice at me. Drive to the city though, they look at you like your from another planet  Too many green weenies running around these days driving hybrids people dont even know what a diesel is anymore.

Stealing huh? I wish you had asked the woman to explain that. Her explanation might have been memorable.

That big Cummins was sucking the fuel so fast it was bypassing the pump meter???? :-laf

I wish that he had asked as well!!!!!!

Mike. :)

My 24v sounded like a UPS truck coming and would turn heads everywhere.

One of my favorite things to do in California!

OK, School me, is that a privledged parking spot or something? Never seen that one before. Most I see is handicapped or maybe compact only.

Yes they mark these spaces in retail parking lots, I always park in them since there is no ordanance (yet) that make them have a way to fine you. Crazy stuff always seems to start here, but I continue to fight the good fight.

Yep, with a full 5" muffler free exhaust, she certainly isnt going to sneak up on anybody ;). Its just that I live in the heart of farm land and people hardly take notice to little ol me  Lots of farm trucks, ag trucks, and farm equipment running down the road on a daily basis.

Why?

That is a good question, I do the same thing with all of my diesel vehicles...

I guess it goes back to my driving days where many of the trucks and equipment that I operated didn't start well when hot. Hated having to get towed away from the pumps or having to jam a screwdriver across the starter terminals to get going again.

I don't do it with the gassers, between the fire hazard and chance of throwing a check engine light from a removed fuel cap.

Old dog, old tricks... ... :D

Mike. :)
