Wayne M. , yea in NY between cuomo and bloomberg ... . ouch ... but they'll never disarm any of their security guards, or make it that their friends and associates can't get their CCW permit.

Local News12 poll on high capacity clips (*magazines* but what do you want from anti-gun establishments )

http://longisland.news12.com/polls/...1-04-high-capacity-ammunition-clips-1.4406207

It only swung over to Not being in favor once it hit the Local Pro-Gun forums.

Please vote "No".

One real life example of why our founding fathers included the 2nd A. .

List of petitions that has been circulating

Stop Cuomo's 2A infringements

Impeach Feinstein

Try Feinstein in federal court for treason

Do NOT infringe on the 2A by enacting any sort of ban

Do not allow congress to ban what they deem "assault weapons" or "high capacity magazines"

Disregard Fienstein's proposed bill

Repeal Unconstitutional Gun Laws

Recognize the 2A as intended - to keep us safe from the government

Protect the 2A, and enforce already on the books laws instead

Eliminate armed guards for the POTUS and Vice, but create gun free zones around them

Press Charges against David Gregory for posession of a 30 round mag in DC.

All I can say is, you poor people in New York. Your Gov. is without a BRAIN. I read his Proposal on MSN. It's just another case of NO CLUE. Good Luck

Stay vigilant. Though the states number 50, they're all starting to think alike!!

We all maybe, and while something may not pass or pass very neutered at the Federal level, that doesn't stop our feel good law makers in NY from passing something more restrictive and more mindless that doesn't address the real problems.
CA is well ahead in mindless restrictions... not that our AWB isn't, but CA built on top of that with more and their approved list. . which I think MA has such a list as well.

At least we can (for the moment) have pre-ban mags... and for those of us that like our M1 Carbines and M14/M1A , the only real well working mags are USGI, which are all greater than 10rnds.
I've tried the 5 and 10 rnders for the m14, real pain to get them in our out. I've tried the commercial 5 and 10rnders for the M1 Carbines all garbage.

But yea, I could see NY looking at CA and what they are doing, adopt all of it and than some... Seems NY law makers aren't the free thinkers they say they are... but look at what CA is doing, and adopt what sticks in CA.
If we had real thinkers that were worried more about the real problems. . and less about lining their pockets maybe they could see the evident questions and address them... .

Why an increase over the last couple of decades in these specific type of attacks?
Why aren't they looking into the documented side effects of the pharmaceuticals?

One report had cited that for each of these rampages, it was a guy 18-25yo , and was diagnosed and on meds... and if the guy didn't do it during that age period, he was found to have problems during the age period but committed the heinous act in his later years.
A few reports went on to say that yes there is a difference between man and woman, and a man who once seemed normal before ~ 18yo, goes through changes ~18-~25 and those changes is the time when the psychosis comes to the surface if a problem exists.

I believe they rather attack a topic they think that can get them votes, inact fell good laws, rather than not have to tackle a very tough issue of mental health and privacy.

News12 LI profiled the "violence acts" in numbers related in certain ways that made the numbers sound just terribly rampant.
And they went on to citing "young people" , the number one cause of death is firearms.
So now we are back to including gang bangers shooting gang bangers and including and up to 21yo's as "youths", such past reports went as far as calling the same gang banger 21yo's and younger as "children" .

But of course no coverage or reference to the FBI report, cause those numbers wont sound sooooo terrible and support their agenda.
I had read on a few forums some of the numbers, IIRC , less than 2% a firearm was used - in that most common was a handgun not a rifle.
More attacks were performed with hammers and knifes.
More deaths are attributed to vehicles than firearms.

Anti gun people keep asking ' Who needs a 30 round mag ?' Maybe they should ask te folks who live on the Mexican boarder. That would be the one our Govt refuses to take control of. That would be the one the drug cartels cross nightly, smuggling drugs and /or illegals while carrying automatic weapons and threatening our citizens while they are at it. When I get asked how many rounds I need in a gun, respond with more than the the other guy that's trying to kill me has in his.

Problem is, and rightfully so, why should we give up anything because if we do it just opens the door...

Meanwhile, My favorite radio guy, Curtis Sliwa, http://www.curtissliwa.com/videos/233-curtis-breaks-ice-t-down-for-gun-comments.html , was absolutely ripping apart my  Gov Cuomo telling him he should be worrying about NY's own fiscal cliff etc. etc. According to Sliwa, Cuomo also suggested that home interviews and inspections should be part of the permitting process.

Lifted from--- http://www.governor. ny.gov/press/01092013-cuomo-agenda-2013

"Safe and Fair Gun Policy: There have been far too many lives claimed as a result of gun violence in recent years, from Columbine, to Virginia Tech, Aurora, Newtown, and Webster. New York once led the way: ‘Sullivan’s Law’ of 1911 was the nation's first gun control law—a model law that required a permit for possession of a hand gun. The time has come to make New York safer and once again lead the way for other states to follow.

We Must Pass the Toughest Assault Weapons Ban in the Country: New York's ban on assault weapons is so riddled with loopholes and so difficult to understand that it has become virtually unenforceable. While state law bans magazines with a capacity greater than ten rounds of ammunition, the law exempts magazines manufactured prior to 1994. Because magazines are not generally stamped with a serial number or other mark that would identify the date of manufacture, it is virtually impossible to determine whether a large capacity magazine was manufactured prior to 1994. In order to fix this problem, the Governor proposed tightening our assault weapons ban and eliminating large capacity magazines regardless of date of manufacture.

Preventing Private Sales to Prohibited Persons: While New York mandates that individuals buying guns from dealers or at gun shows be checked to determine whether they have a criminal record, suffer from mental illness, or otherwise are in a category of persons prohibited from owning guns, no such checks are done when a gun is sold privately. The Governor announced that he will propose requiring that any sale in New York State between private parties be subject to the same background checks.

Enhanced Penalties: To effectively deter the flow and use of illegal guns on our streets, the Governor announced that he will propose enhancing penalties for those who illegally buy guns, for those who use guns on school property, and for those who engage in violent and serious drug-related gang activity.

Reporting by Mental Health Professionals: Governor Cuomo announced that he will propose measures to ensure that when a mental health professional determines that a firearm owner is likely to engage in conduct that would result in serious harm to self or others, that risk may be reported and the gun removed by law enforcement authorities.

One State, One Standard: Currently, licenses for handguns are issued by the county in which the gun owner lives, many of which are valid for life. As a result, while certain checks are run at the time a license is issued, once a license is obtained, there is no subsequent check to determine whether the holder is still eligible to own a gun. The Governor announced that he will propose a single standard across the state to ensure that appropriate checks can be run to bar convicted felons and other prohibited people from possessing firearms.

Combating Gun Violence in the State’s Most Violent Neighborhoods: The state will continue to implement programs that successfully reduce gun violence in high-crime neighborhoods. Pilot programs currently under way that employ a series of actions, including law enforcement, community members and service providers delivering a message that conveys facts about the consequences of further violence, have resulted in big reductions in gun violence over a short period of time.
