 Help, anyone know how many turns "in or out" on the fuel screw? Its a 92 W/VE pump, I heard 3 and if you go 4 you got a runaway? Lost the directions from banks years ago on how many turns, any help out there? thanks

Just loosen the 13mm jamb nut and crank in the 6mm fuel screw til' she starts to gain RPM and STOP!!!

You can adjust the linkage to your liking from there...

My '92 low idles around 1100 and will fuel hard to 3600 even before the 3200 spring was installed.

There's no rule on how many turns till runaway. Some trucks (like mine) won't run away with the screw all the way in. It all depends how the throttle shaft is indexed.

Seems like quite a range to reach run-away. 0. 5, 3, 4 etc. And if it depends on how the throttle shaft is indexed... does that mean it'll run-away when you apply throttle if you've turned the screw too far without knowing at idle?

Yes, the approved method is to have a board handy like mentioned above. Turn the screw in about 1/4 of a turn at a time, and blip the throttle after each adjustment. If it hangs and doesn't drop right back to idle, that's far enough, and back the screw out 1/8 to 1/4 turn. You'll most likely have to adjust your idle back down, as it goes up with the increase in fuel.

I can screw mine in until it stops with no runaway.
