Installed MiniMaxx yesterday and immediately started getting error codes P0500 and U0121. Communications with the ABS ECU problem. Did two things I read about; changed ABS speed sensor on rear def and filled spare fuse slots. No change. Still have ABS and Brake lights on, as well as CEL. And of course no speedometer. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Did you try uninstalling the MiniMaxx and see if the problems go away? When I installed my BullyDog it caused the abs and brake light to come on and the fix was to start the truck 5 times and on the fifth time back the truck up at least 30 feet or until the lights went off. Not to say this is a fix for your problem.

U0121 and P0500 codes problem resolved... Took the following advice:

No possible way it is from the quad box. Now... . you mave have inadvertantly unplugged something else along the way. The lack of communication code means that the IC is not communicating with the ABS module. That is where the speed signal comes from. First thing to check is fuse #30 in the TIPM.

Seems fuse #30 was empty, inserted a 15 amp fuse, cleared codes and problem solved.

Thanks for responses. Hope this helps someone else in the same situation.

So fuse 30 just vanished on it's own
impressive trick truck

Never pulled #30, so not sure what happened. Glad you never had an issue that needed trouble shooting. Hoping someday to be perfect like you.

Bringing this back to life since the same thing happened to me. I had blown a fuse somewhere, tinkering with add on gadgets. I pulled and inspected each fuse in the TIPM, using the diagram on the cover to assure putting them back as removed. The #30 fuse is marked as "Spare" on the diagram. When I finally found the blown fuse and drove the truck, the ABS and Brake lamps were on, and the speedo didn't work.
I decided to research TDR and found this thread. I went to the truck, and sure enough, #30 fuse was missing. I put a 15A fuse in there and the lamps went out. I don't know if I previously put the fuse in the wrong place based on the diagram or what but I'll take the fix anyway I can get it.

Thank you once again, TDR

What it shows on the diagram or what is in the OEM wiring manual and what is "really" there aren't always the same. Found this out by experience.
