So the crew cab needs some running boards. I don't want though some cheap extruded aluminum thing though. I want a meaty diamond plate type of board.

Anyone know any companies that make quality boards in custom lengths? I want to run from the front wheel right to the back.

Thanks!

If you have cash, I have time... ... ... ... . :D

Seriously, though, why not just get some schedule 40 pipe, bend it a slow 90 on each end, tack a piece of sheet metal on top, some Rhino lining, and make some brackets to the frame? Or if you want square corners, try some square tubing..... Sounds simple, right?

The problem you're going to run into is the year..... You're gonna have to go custom fab or modify something to fit it. I don't know of anyone making anything nice for the 89-93, let alone an '85..... four door...

Cattleman makes some nicer steps for the later model, usually reasonably priced..... Perhaps they'd do a custom mount? http://cattlemanhd.com/main/?page_id=7907

Are you looking for something off the frame or off the cab mounts? I'll try to get some pics of my '03 tomorrow. They're schedule 40 pipe, sheet metal, and don't flex much when I stand on 'em.....

Picture of how they were attached on frame, side profile at front, and the convenient clearance when the door opens.

Wow! A whole butt load of boards! Thanks!

Nice! They suit that truck!

I am looking for frame mount. And I may have to make them myself but was hoping to find a smaller shop that does custom... ...

I dont want to go tube. Not really the style I want. Issue is that the boards are almost stricky for stones. I dont use my current running boards! But I do want a stone defense more than just 3M. And with occational short *** people getting in and standing on freshly painted sills.....

BS, I've had both products, the Putco nerfs are second to none, I believe the Putco boards may be heavier, check shipping weight. The Dee Zee's are also very stout, and I would be happy with either.

THANK YOU! That is excellent to know! That makes me a lot more confident considering those.

I have a feeling a tape measure and a used truck lot is in my future. :D Need to find a newer vehicle that matches the crew cab's cab section as they do not list anything for a 80's crew! Im so offended! ;) LOL
