A man in Santa Fe, NM has hid a Treasure Chest full of gold and other jewels somewhere in the New Mexico Mountains or other parts of the Rocky's. Whoever finds the treasure, worth at least two million, keeps it. Many are flocking to New Mexico or other parts of the Rocky's to search for the treasure. See attached clues.

The latest and 10th clue Mr. Forrest Fenn gave is that the treasure in hidden above 5000 feet in elevation. That's not saying much, Albuquerque's above 5000 feet.

I think its neat that people are actually out looking for this treasure. Imagine actually finding it, sure would be a game changer ;)

Are you allowed to pull the Cook Wagon behind that rig? Maybe two more pullers? watch out for the weight Police.

LOL!!

I would be spending my weekends looking if I lived closer. We have a local radio station that does this at christmas but not 2million worth.

We have our own treasure or stash of cash that occurred in the Danaher valley Bob Marshall wilderness some bank or train robbery and then they went into the BOB. Back then it was wild country, ITS WILD NOW!!! BUT it must have been really WILD!!!. My Nephew Jason and Myself have traveled thru the valley many times to and from hunting camp its so pretty that we have never stopped to look for the stash and its kind of Eire there its VERY REMOTE so the Grizz like it and has an abundance of game. One shot is like ringing a dinner bell not something I would cherish having a GRIZZ for dinner, Kind of have to know your way around all the marsh and steams that change every year. But its one of the most beautiful places in the BOB. We dont take hunters thru the valley Jason and I save the sights for US our hard work has it's benefits :D

You know, the treasure is hidden somewhere in the Rocky's and not necessarily in the New Mexico Rocky's. Maybe it's hidden in the BOB!

If its in the BOB it could be looked for, for a long long long time and NEVER be found. Its a pretty big place

A new clue was revealed today by Forest Fenn of Santa Fe on the Today Show;

By Eun Kyung Kim, TODAY contributor

The art collector who triggered a modern-day gold rush by burying a multimillion-dollar treasure chest revealed a new clue Wednesday to where the prize is hidden. Actually, the chest is not buried.

“No need to dig up the old outhouses, the treasure is not associated with any structure,”
Forrest Fenn announced on TODAY.

The eleventh clue is the latest hint to where the 82-year-old New Mexican buried the trove of antiques, gold coins and various jewels.

Fenn’s first appearance on TODAY last month generated so much interest from treasure seekers that his website crashed within hours. It also led to overwhelming demand for a book he wrote that offers a map to the treasure in the form of a poem with nine clues. The self-published memoir, “Thrill of the Chase,” is sold by only one shop, an independent bookstore in Santa Fe, N. M. , where copies flew off the shelf for weeks.

Fenn appeared days later to reveal another clue to the bounty.

“The treasure is hidden higher than 5,000 feet above sea level,” he said on March 1.

That failed to narrow the possibilities much since the average elevation in mountainous New Mexico, where the treasure is presumably buried, is 5,700 feet.

The hunt for treasure has been a boon to the state, especially Santa Fe, where the visitor’s bureau and hotels have been inundated with requests for information and bookings.

“Our phones are ringing off the hook,” said Dana Ortega, marketing director of the Inn and Spa at Loretto. The recent attention also led to “about 2,000 more visitors to our website. ”

Fenn said one of the reasons why he buried the treasure is to encourage Americans to become more active.

"Get your kids out in the countryside, take them fishing and get them away from their little hand-held machines," he said last month on TODAY.
