Do these trucks have on board air? I noticed the button marked "tire light load-inflation" right on the dash... .
They sure have turned into a work of art, makes me feel like Im riding around on a dinosaur:-laf
No onboard air. with the federally mandated tire pressure monitoring system, they allow 2 settings for air pressure low is for an empty truck and normal for a loaded truck,For example it may be 45psi front and rear on light and jump to 55-70 normal. These numbers vary by 2 and 4wheel drive and cab configurations.
Call me a dinosaur, but all I see on these new ones is potential for problems with all of the sophisticated electronics. My old '99 ST is getting some body work and a new coat of paint on the cab this summer, plus a brand spanking new flatbed. I really like being in control of when the interior lights go on and off, etc. New ones sure are pretty to look at, but I'll pass.

Looks very much the same... ... .Beautiful truck, VERY nice features - but no underhood shots?
The more interesting changes are in the engine itself, such as the coated pistons and even stronger block girdles than used in the past

Can you explain to a simple mind like me how the pressures in the tires change? This may be old news for some but you gotta consider what I drive, this might as well be a space ship for me![]()
The tire pressure itself doesn't change unless the owner does it.
The switch allows for lower tire pressure (pavement princess mode) to be accepted by the trucks computer and not freak out the TPMS system. If that feature wasn't there you would have to leave the tires at the max pressure at all times or be reminded every 5 seconds by warning lights on the dash (EVIC) that you have a low tire(s) when you aired them down when running empty.
That is only a feature on the 3/4 tons AFAIK.
A definite sanity saver... .
