I just caught the tail of the news report this morning.

My son was the response manager for that operation. Pretty bad mess.

Sorry, I didn't see this when posted.

No, I'm far away across the state, probably 400 miles or so west of the exploded plant.

Glad to hear that you weren't near the blast. Im guessing no one else on the tdr was either.

One thing that Ive noticed on the news this last week. You hear all the talk about "boston strong" as if the people of boston are all hero's. I guess these days it is heroic to cower in your bathtub. And the reality is that most of boston was in no more danger than someone in seattle. And even though there was a tremendous amount of people who lost limbs or otherwise injured, only 3 were killed.

On the other hand (and Ive only heard this once on the news), the 11 VOLUNTEER fireman killed at the fertilizer plant knew of the extreme danger of a possible explosion. But continued to fight the fire to give folks time to evacuate the apartments etc across the street.

We're about 200 miles south, in the suburbs of Houston. I know the fertilizer plant was there first and the town sort of grew up around it, but having a fertilizer plant for a close neighbor is NOT a good idea (and, yes, I've worked in many of them where our engines and compressors are installed. )

We have a fertilizer plant right out side of our town( Bonham), Kinda scary now, when you think about what could happen, oh well ,The Lord's gonna take us when it's our time , so guess it don't matter, Monte

The truth is the kenyan's regime failed miserably and we experienced another terrorist attack on an American city. Spokesgirls for the regime are downplaying it to pacify the gullible that it was no big deal, just a minor crime to be handled by local police.

Those two ragheads and their parents were or had previously been on welfare paid by American taxpayers while they were hating and scheming against us. At least one of them had been granted citizenship and had probably received free scholarships to a university like the kenyan did. The FBI had them in their files but apparently were too busy carrying out anti-American activities for the kenyan so didn't have time to prevent terrorist attacks.

Yep, I bet I know about the fertilizer plant you are referring to... VPG. I've was inside that plant many times back in the late 70s and early 80s. I sold them several skid-steer loaders for use loading the mixing/blending hoppers from the big bulk storage bunkers. I don't remember them handling ammonium nitrate, but they did handle bulk ammonium sulfate which isn't as chemically unstable.

I haven't traveled the old US-82/TX56 in many years and didn't know about the prisons and jail. I have been going through on the new US-82 north of town and missing the stop lights that were timed to make drivers stop at least once when going through downtown Bonham.
