Equipment Hours vs Usage

VW Jetta

I had a 2008 Ford Fusion for a loaner car while my truck was in the shop for a week getting EGR service and new front axle U-joints installed. I was impressed with the car, it had a 100K on it but ran nice and smooth and handles great. Anyone had any experience with a Ford Fusion? I'm seriously thinking about one for an everday work car.

That's a good measure of a car. Loaners don't get maintained very well and get beat up by many drivers.
We had a Jeep Wrangler on Kona w/28K and it ran great,no squeaks or rattles and you know it hit some off highway spots.
Ford's got some nice offerings.

I tried one out in 2009 and was impressed, until it got dark.

The headlights were terrible with a distinct cut-off, you ain't gonna' see the deer until 2 seconds too late IMHO.

You must be traveling in the gloom during the winter as I do so you really should try one out after dark on a rural road to make sure it is adequate for you.

Mike.

Ive got one as a DD. And even though its a Ford , I love it. It has the V6, its faster than hell, gets 30+ mpg and have about 60k on it and havent had a single problem with it. And i bought it used from a rental car company with 30k on it. So who knows what its been put through

I think the I CANT SEE AFTER DARK syndrome must be in most of the autos in Fords line up. We rented a Ford Tarsus in Calif. Not bad but like was said I have a need to see when it gets dark.

Wow my wife Ford 500's light are worlds ahead of those on my truck. I like the car, awd, 28-32 mpg we bought it with 98000. hope to put a few hundred more on it.

My wife has a 2010 Ford Fusion Sport AWD. We bought it new in 2009, it only has about 60,000km (40,000 miles) on it. We both love the car and it hasn't given us any problems so far, just regular maintenance. This was the top of the line model with leather, heated seats, sunroof and so on. Though not super luxurious compared to some it's a very nice car for commuting or long trips. Plenty fast and great handling. Our only complaint, and we're both average sized creatures, is that while getting in is easy, getting out can be difficult because it's so low! Years ago my wife was hit by a drunk driver in a major winter accident when it was -30C. She was injured badly and has of course been a very timid driver ever since. This car, AWD with winter tires on is excellent and she feels safe in it. I would recommend it.

Thanks--I plan on getting a work car as soon as I sell my camper (just no time to use it anymore) and a 2007-08 Fusion is on my short list!
