I need the V-Band exhaust clamp that secures the cast iron turndown to the turbocharger on my 06. According to my local Dodge/Chrysler dealerships this is no longer available. I bought one from a truck parts place Friday and it is correct diameter but is too wide. I ordered one online which is listed as being specific for the application on my truck. Got e-mail from them this AM stating the part is on back order. If anyone knows of availibilty of this clamp, the Cummins part # it will be greatly appreciated. bg

Give me just a minute and I'll look it up, you don't have an exhaust brake I assume???

Mike.

I'm in the process of installing the Pac Brake. The clamp I removed was installed by me last year on the road and was also too wide so I have had a leak for some time. My engine sn is57611716. Thanks. bg

I come up with Cummins # 4089883.

Item # 15

My distributor does not have any. If your distributor does not have stock make them check the factory for availability.

I have to go for PT, will check in when I return and see how you are making out.

Here is the old Cummins part number plus the Dodge part number (that clamp came with the Jake Kit as well).

BG if you have a factory clamp its the correct clamp for a PacBrake exhaust brake... I can't tell you how many we've sold and installed and the factory clamp is correct for installing the exhaust brake... I've seen the clamp incorrectly installed by customers only to have to go back and correctly install it...

One other thought... you need to clamp it tight... . give the truck 15-20 starts from a cold engine and retighten the clamp and take up the slack...

As a former PacBrake Distributor I used to order spares and replacements from both PacBrake and Cummins. .

Hope this helps...

Thanks Mike and jelag. Just finished install of new clamp. I called the truck parts supply with the number you (Mike) gave me and they ordered it out of Houston yesterday, got it this AM. Jelag, the reason the clamp on the truck wouldn't work is I had had the clamp break last year when out of town. I bought what I thought was the correct replacement in Paris Texas and installed. It is right diameter but the "V" groove is too wide. With it pulled all the way up it didn't leak much and I never noticed it till I started installing the e-brake. Thanks again Mike and jelag, Mike I hope you get well fast so you can return to your job, I know you must be missed. bg

P/N 3535399 comes without the nut ( P/N 3539372) Get clamp P/N 4089883 if you want both. I am working on my truck right now and was just looking this up :) Shad
