I am a third gen owner but a neighbor of mine bought a real nice 2010. They are up in Oregon and the P2271 code came up.
Looking this code up it says an O2 sensor is reading too rich. A lot of this sounds like a gasser issue. Truck is stock except she JUST told me they put a K&N air filter on it. I IMMEDIATELY told them to get rid of that!!!
Any answers out there?

There is a tSB to address this issue. Of course make sure the ECM is up to date. Then there is some wiring to be replaced at the o2 sensors. TSB 25-004-13 and 18-005-13 for the flash

Bob, As always, THANKS for your accurate information. I will forward it to them. The truck was just bought used and is new to my neighbor. In your opinion, will it hurt to run the truck like this until they get back to Calif. ? Not holding you to GOSPEL truth Bob ;) Chris

Depends on how's many miles. I would at least get the flash done. That would be hard for any dealer toes up Andalusia buy him some miles

My 2010 2500 has been at the dealership now for two weeks with recurring o2 sensor related codes. The wiring TSB has been done and now the o2 sensor module replaced. Still getting the same codes and some new ones related to the o2 sensor. dealer is stumped and has been "calling Chrysler" now for advice. Original o2 sensor code came up in January. This code was cleared by the dealer as they told me they had to wait for the second code to show up before they could do the wiring TSB.

Thinking about turning this over to the Lemon Law attorney on Monday.

Anybody else had problems with recurring o2 sensor codes. Frustrated in Alexandria VA

Any resistance in the wiring will cause a problem. I would ask them to replace the transmission wiring harness if it is an auto trans. That will give you new wiring from the module to the sensors, replacing the overlay they did via the TSB. I'm assuming you have a stock truck, in good condition and it has not been making excessive soot.
