I am very well aware of the f/o dilution potential and Cummins 5% policy, please dear god let it be a fluke!!
I didn't get a sample, didn't really think it was necessary being this new, still have about 750 to new home, then back to OR coast and back again to MI. Guess I will try to get it in next Monday, any advice on how to get them to check the injectors? You're the 3 one to have this happen to them. My 12 had two bad injectors replaced under warranty. A guy I work with had 3 bad injectors. Now your truck. I can say that all has been good with my truck since the injectors were done. I would take a sample to show the service manager change the lube and get it into the shop as soon as you can.
I agree with Sticks on this, even though it's too late for the old oil, I would definitely be checking using this method until you get (home... ). If making oil, depending on where the injector(s) is leaking, you could melt a piston.Using an el-cheapo fast food restaurant napkin, let a drop of the oil from the dipstick land on it. If there's fuel in it, it will spread out through the napkin faster than the oil, and will separate from it in kind of a "halo" effect. Quick and dirty way to check for fuel in the oil.

Hindsight is always more fruitful, but why didn't the Dealer in Mitchell pull the valve cover and observe any injectors that may be misting while running?
Gotcha, I can understand that. They were very busy and did some jockeying to just get me in to change, I was thinking regen or over fill not breakage so I didn't push it.
I'm pretty sure an injector contribution test may point out a weak/bad injector on a 6. 7. Now that you know where your oil level is, and if you continue to "make" oil, and you can see fuel dilution by way of the napkin test, you will know a injector(s) is malfunctioning. Could be a cracked body or tip, or a solenoid hanging open which could be catastrophic. Will scan tool see injector leak, or does it need to be seen manually?
