Hey fellas got my 2004. 5 HO cummins with around 100k miles, it starts fine but after 20sec it starts to idle really rough, seems to get worste the longer it runs, and if you touch the pedal the truck becomes a runaway and have to turn off. I have just pulled the injectors, 2 of them had a lot of stuff on the tips with another 2 of them being replaced at a unknown date with a bosch oem and one dtech, also injector tubes didn't look so great. Just asking if injectors could cause these symptons. I am about to buy some 60hp industrial injection with new tubes ect, but would be very sad if the truck did the same thing after I put these in. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks a lot.

Get a set of known good injectors first or you will be chasing ghosts. Yes, injectors are a possibility for your problem. Not the only one but a definite one.

Consider the purchase of injectors and tips carefully. Do not settle for anything less than a Genuine Bosch new or reman. As for tips, consider if the extra fuel is needed. Larger tips can have detrimental effects with some of the latest DTC's in the computer. Stock tips have been proven good to 600 HP, if oyu aren't chasing big power it is hard to justify the potential problems of non-stock tips.

It says on the You Tube that you had a Smarty on it? Maybe the flash is corrupt. Did you have a programmer on it any other before it acted up? That's why I refuse to plug a tuner in to mine. I'm too afraid of something going wrong.

That is not my actual truck, just a perfect example of what mine exactly does and I do not have a programmer on it nor ever did .
