In looking at the new trucks, to get the options I want, I lose storage space under the rear seat due to a woofer speaker. I don't want the 9th speaker anyway. Four of those things have always been more than enough for me as my hearing is already greatly diminished with age and work damage. Anywayz... if I buy a new truck, can I disable/remove the rear speaker without upsetting the computer system in the truck that says someone is stealing it and then the radio may not work at all? Or throw a code I have to look at for the rest of my life? This may be a strange question but I carry several items in my storage area now on my 2004. 5 truck and I really like/use my fold over metal tray that was eliminated as well. I hope maybe the dealer repairmen will have an idea on this one. No one besides me probably cares but I do not wish to buy a stripped truck either. Or is their another option/way to approach this?

Just unplug it. It will store a code in the radio/amplifier, but other than that should not cause any problems.

After I posted this question... of course... I saw a dealer option sticker that shows a SLT stock radio with 6 speakers. Perhaps this unit does not have the woofer under the rear seat. That happens to be the truck I have zoned in on. Thanks Sag. I may have to do that anyway but at least I know I can.

MJ, the only trucks standard with the 9 speaker system are Laramie's and up. All other trims its an option, so unless the Alpine system is specifically listed on the right side of the window sticker options it won't have it.

Those second row in floor storage compartments come on all crew cabs; I saw them on window stickers for ST, SLT, Big Horn, Laramie models.

Not sure how it will affect your MY13 but that was the first mod to my MY10. Its been on the shelf in the garage in a heavy plastic bag since Jul 2010. Never had any troubles from it falling out of the truck.
