I have a 2014 on order with the 5th wheel/gooseneck prep package. I remember some discussion of problems with the factory brake controller and am wondering if problems still exist or have been worked out. Appreciate any comments with your experiences.

I haven't heard many complaints about the factory ITBC on the 2012 and up trucks. They changed the controller for the 2012 model year to allow settings on the EVIC setup screen for electric brake/light (trailer), electric brake/heavy, electric over hydraulic/light, electric over hydraulic/heavy. Those of us from 2011 back don't have this option, and I wish for a little more output (I'm running gain of 9. 5) for the brakes on my 16K 5th wheel.

The factory brake controller on my 13 is great. BTW, I prefer the B&W gooseneck and Companion 5th wheel hitches to the factory setup. The B&W is also lower cost overall.

I was using a Prodigy in my 03, in the 2013, after I figured out how to change the settings, it works great. I'm happy with it's performance. Ken Irwin
