G-56 gearshift removal

Anyone have any experience removing the gear shifter from g56 6speed, how to get the console apart without tearing it up?, TIA , Monte

My '06 Mega is an auto but I assume that you still have the floor console with the cupholders??? If so then pull the rubber inserts to reveal the screws that hold the console down. There are three as I recall.



I can probably get you a picture or two tonight if you need me to. The truck is not here with me at work.

Thanks Mike, the screws are just under the rubber inserts then, didn't know and didn't want to tear something up, i was just going to remove it so the mech. could get to it easier when he changes out the clutch in the morn. , Thanks i'll see what i can do, Thanks for the reply, Monte

Two on the right, and one on the left in the opening where the floor mounted 4WD lever would be. I think there is a simple push fastener in the front left corner, after you get the three screws out you pull the console back a little to release the fastener. I THINK... ... ... .



I take the liners out several times a year so that I can clean them. The console itself has only been out a couple of times.
