Bad Weather , Lots of Drama

Do all the weather stations add a sense of drama to their forecast's? Our local radio weather guy is something to behold. Its cold he says (well No 5hit its western MT!!!) Was out plowing snow this AM, taking a break with the Hwy Crew having some coffee huddled around a 55 gal drum with flame coming out as high as we are at our driveway entrance. The local radio guy stopped by and said better get ready cold is coming today!!! his car was pelted with no less than 10 snowballs what a dumb A** to late its here!!! I always keep a bottle of 80 proof antifreeze readily available for such emergencies.

Here in Cincinnati they have been predicting "white death" all week. This morning the local news decided they could milk another hour out of the story - kind of funny when armageddon is upon us and the cars are whizzing by at 70 mph in the background.
When I get home from work I'll just take a sip of "Jagermeister" and life will be good!

Our weather station out of Milwaukee is good at drama also.
The thing that gets me is there is NEVER a good day weather wise. It is either too hot, too cold, too humid, too rainy, too windy, too snowy etc....
Get a grip...This is life in the upper mid west.

When we get a rare dusting here in NE South Carolina, local tv stations interview the highway patrol, emergency management in every county, and on and on. I think they try to speak a word for every snowflake that falls. Experts at making a mountain out of a molehill!! Mark

I can tell ya right now that Global warming is BS its been around 0 during the day and - something every night, one night it was -20 with a 25 MPH wind. This AM we went to feed the livestock it was -25 with a wind, ate some breakfast when done went Cross Country Skiing for a few hours.

Nothing beats a shot Hennessey Cognac in your morning coffee to loosen up the joints and add some antifreeze to the plumbing get a warm fuzzy feeling all over.

That's one of the DISADVANTAGES of being off grid and supply your own power, its more reliable than the grid. I hide the wife's Flannel PJ's she will get as close as skin to get warm.

-24 and windy a couple nights ago near Savageton, WY where I was working (outside most of the time) and a balmy -5 for a high today here in Glenrock, WY. I'd like it if you'd send a shot of whatever will keep my toes warm this way!!!

Been running one of these for the last couple of winters... I can stick my hands inside the fire box to warm my fingers, but my toes are the the problem... It seems that my feet sweat more when cold and stay wet and cold all night! #@$%!

Same thing here in western PA. Day after day it's all we hear..snow..ice..cold. If this was Florida, maybe it would be news. Guess what, it's December in PA. What do they think it's going to do outside?

I will send ya some warm weather today its been right at 3* and this AM it was -17 compared to what it was for a few days this is Flip, Flop and Tank top weather ITS A TROPICAL HEAT WAVE!!!!

Went to the Hwy out front of the house to see how good a job the Hwy crew were doing and this is what I seen. Next thing I heard when I got back to the house was a bobtail 3 axle truck slam into a big pine tree. Ran back out and the Hwy crew said the dim wit had to be driving 55 to 60 MPH BOBTAIL!!!! no iron on the rubber, :-laf

Makes me glad I don't drive trucks any more, Drivers aren't what they used to be Sheriff got there open the door and Promptly BUSTED HIS A** ice was thick enough to ice skate on. I ran out to the Sheriff and gave him the old Baseball umpire YOUR SAFE!!! Thank goodness he's a friend.
