the easiest way is to just cut the plug off the two wires feeding the buckle and twist the wires together and tape up. did this on all of our 06's in the dealer parking lot. also did the clutch switch this way at the same time.
 
I just disabled mine using the procedure in the owners manual. The seat belt light remains on but it won't chime anymore.
 
factory seat belt chime removal is much easier :) only take a few seconds.

key off
buckle belt
start truck
unbuckle and rebuckle 3x or more
buckle belt
shut off truck
start and drive as usual, chime will sound to let you know it completed
must be done within 60 seconds of starting
 
I just took the center lap belt and pluged it into the driver side belt. No body ever rides there. But if anybody has a pic of the paper clip idea I would like to see it. Sometimes I have to put my belt on when I go onto military installations.
 
Disconnect the the input wire from the seat belt. (located under seat)
Strip some stranded wire(I used 12g) about 1 inch.
Bend bare wire into a U and insert into the female plug.
Reconnect plug
Done
 
Just to be clear - I wear my seat belt all the time. But I like to start the engine and let it warm up (at least) a few seconds, then put on my seat belt, etc., then drive. I just don't like being pestered by the chime or light during that time.
 
Find someone that has the triple dog bully dog programmer, just plug it in and you can disable the seatbelt light and chime, you can also turn on daylight running lights that are on your truck but not enabled, Monte
 
Heads up for those shorting seat belt wires (Don't do it!):
Dual stage air bags in newer vehicles depend on data of if you are or are not wearing your seat belt to decide if they deploy at full power or reduced power. The design of airbags was originally, 30+ years ago, for unrestrained occupants. After so many people looked like Uncle Fester in the Addams Family after eating the full power airbag in a crash they have since redesigned them to have more than one stage. The softer stage is for lower speed impacts with a occupant that has their seatbelt on.

You don't want to be in a crash with a reduced power deployment (because it thinks you have your seatbelt on) when it needs full power (because you don't agree with the Nanny States of America and are not buckled in). The correct deployment power helps the odds of buying another vehicle after a crash vs. being on the wrong side of the grass...

Use another method and perhaps remind the automaker that they don't need to go beyond the law to infringe on your freedoms by annoying you to the point of defeating the safety system. After all cigarettes and alcohol are still sold in the USA allowing people the freedom to make good and bad choices for themselves.

The owners manual method is one way to drive specific customers elsewhere on the new car sales lot. Because what salesman is going to know about that? Seriously.
