Measurements on a Getrag 5-speed Transmission

Ihave a 92 intercooled 5 speed for wheel drive that has a vibration bad . I figure it's bearings in it. it started just between 4 & 5th gear but now it does it in all the gears. any idea where to get a good rebuild kit. I'm having a hard time finding a kit that has all the parts I might need
 
Try Allstate Gear, Midwest Transmission Center, Inc. or Drivetrain.Com They all list a generous supply of parts for the Getrag. It gets a bum rap but it is a fine transmission, keep the oil clean and full. I used 15/40 for 20 plus years but now use 50wt synthetic manual gear oil. I have 322k miles on my 91.5 all original, including the clutch. Power level is 263hp/708tq.

I forgot about allstate I got my stub from there last year. I'm pretty sure this is my fault for not replacing the throw out bearing when it started to chirp. this truck only has 119000 on it.

Nick, Do you overfill the Getrag? I just picked up a '92 W 250...

the last time I had to fix the stub I filled it from the top and put an extra quart in it. I put a new body on it and we broke the stub putting the cab on. I used synthetic 30 in it.
 
You didnt mention , does your truck have a carrier bearing , as you didnt say if your truck is a club cab or not ?
 
no it's a single cab long box . 8inch lift 35's on it. I'm gonna pull the trans and see if the front shaft has any play and check the clutch and throw out bearing .

I don't overfill but TDR as a whole seem to think it is necessary. I don't overfill any of my gear boxes, just change at 36K so it never gets dirty and keep them full.

I did mainly because when I did my stub it didn't look like the front bearing gotbenough lube to it . it seems to be at a rearward angle so I just put enough in so it touched the bearing.
 
put your t-case out of gear and see how much slop you have in the drive lines both front and back ive seen almost a 1/4 turn of slop in both
