So, I am overall impressed with my 2013 DRW 385/Aisin. Not perfect, but a major improvement over all other builds, except for fuel mileage. I do have 2 issues that I need help with.
1. This has been since about day 1 (which was August) and now has about 6k on the odometer. I pull up to a stop sign or red light, attempt to take off empty or loaded, I press the go pedal to any position (slightly more than idle or half way down) and the truck doesn't move for about a second. Doesn't sound like much delay, but in high traffic situations making a left hand turn across a 4 lane highway, I have nearly wet my pants a few times. Oncoming traffic thinks your a jerk or just not paying attention! A few of them I am sure were near wetting themselves as well. The Dealer has not heard of this and is not aware of a problem or a fix. After that slight delay U can peel rubber really quick. There is no codes or errors. Both engine and transmission are smooth.
2. This a 4.10/385/aisin. I am about 28K loaded. Here in central PA, we have a lot of turns and bunny hills and turns on straight stretches followed by another straight away.. I have noticed that even in the tow/haul mode that at as little as 1600 rpms and entering a turn the lousy transmission up shifts a gear in the turn. That is stupid. Now i am 28K coming out of a turn and need power and the truck is in to high of a gear. Now one must press the go pedal down to get it to shift down. Yes I know, I can control this with the paddle shift on the column. I bought an auto to not have to constantly be doing that. It would seem to me that the shift point of 1600 is to low and should be adjustable through the software. Any thoughts on this.
If more detail is need, please ask. Any ideas/thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks, Jared
