Does anyone make a decent windshield wiper?

Has anyone found a decent wiper blade that will last more than a month in the snow, ice, etc? I've tried everything from Trico to Rain-X and just about every NAPA variation out there without success. I just had to stop and buy another set on the way home today to replace ones that I installed just before Christmas on the '07. I had NAPA Vista on the '10 1/2 ton for a few weeks until it got cold and the plastic blades fell apart. I even make it a point to clear the ice off the windshield and make sure the blades aren't frozen to the glass before I use them. Anyway, is there anything out there that will last at least a little while?

Best thing lately for me are the Bosch Icon style blades. Will last a good six months which is remarkable nowadays. A little pricey, BUT they go a while.

Same situation as you, snow, ice, frost, rain, bugs, bird poop, the list goes on.....

I will give the Bosch a shot. They do look very similar to the NAPA Vista I mentioned. Hopefully much better quality. The Vista broke off where the plastic blade meets the mount on the arm. There was about an inch or so of plastic still mounted to the arm...the rest went bouncing down I-81.

I used to only use the Anco Aerovantage blades but the quality has declined. In desperation I tried the Bosch and have been pretty happy with the results.

A Bosch style blade was OEM on my 2008 GMC 1/2 ton parts runner pick-up and those lasted a looooong time. Anything that lasts on that truck is worthy of mention...

Who carries the Bosch? I haven't seen them at NAPA or Advanced Auto Parts locally. Of course, I haven't specifically asked for them either.

As far as the GMC is concerned....remember my last work truck was an '05 Silverado. Enough said..:-laf

Carquest stocks them, I just checked on my Weblink and my local store carries the Bosch Icon, Bosch Excel+ and Bosch Evolution.

About a 4 months ago we were going to Costco when the wiper blade took a dive on me. We went shopping and Costco had the blade and blade arm all in one package. Rather than stop at a parts store I figured what the hell, and bought them they were the Anco brand been a good blade/blade holder combo so far. I think alot of the blade longevity comes from using a quality washer fluid, and a lot of it when I use the wipers I use the washer fluid alot. Rain X fluid is what ive been using.

A while ago, I was getting trico Teflon blades. They were the best period. Then I stopped seeing them. I was not happy with a certain aero blade- I think it was a Michelin blade. It would lift at a certain speed. Right now I buy bargain and at the moment anco winter boot blades are getting it done. When they streak I wipe them down with rain x wipes. They get real black

I second the Bosch Icon after trying many other types. Put them on my TDI, the GFs Lexus and 06 CTD, but they are not made for my 94. They do cost a king's ransom, but if you keep your eyes open there are frequently buy one, get the second one 1/2 off and similar sales which lessens the bite a bit. I stock up during the sales. All in all, the longevity relative to most other blades I have tried makes up for the increased cost IMO.

I've been using Goodyear from Costco. They seem to last and do a good job. One thing I found in the dry climate of Nevada is use them every 2 or 3 days just to keep them from taking a "set" (bending one way then chattering because they don't go the other way easily). I easily get 6-10 months out of them.

Use Rain-X on your glass on a regular basis, and your wiper blades will last longer.

Wipe the rubber part down with the rain-X also. It will put a slippery surface on the blade and snow won't stick. The winter boot covered blade is just about extinct. It works best in the winter for snow.
The Bosch I-con has a wind type deflector built in to keep it on the windshield.

They may not be listed for your 94 but they fit the same as any other. Does it have the hook on the arm? some might have the straight arm, my 95 has the hook. And they attach the same as any other blade. Just buy the length required.

Yeah,that's all I use anymore when they are on sale. 2/$10 or so.

Had the same rain-ex latitudes on for a year.. Still are in great shape. I keep my windshield very clean, and reapply coats of rain-ex every other week. I also uses the rain-ex windshield washer fluid. I think what made the biggest difference was when I started to polish the actual glass with 000 steel wool. I'm never that aggressive with it but am surprised how much junk is stuck on it. Old trucker I know told me about it a few years back and ever since I've gotten great life out of my wiper blades.

I have had excellent results with the Good Year blades I bought from Costco.

I have tried them all, Anco to Rain-X and all in-between and I will continue to use these. The best feature of the Good Year blades is the contour. Fits the windshield perfectly and works well at highway speeds.
