Huh?? I would say cheap seals or bad install. Seals are not all created equal. Use high quality double lip seals with low (-50*) and high temps (300*) material. You won't see those temps as a general rule but it insures quality. Read the specs, general purpose rubber seals are low grade.

True, and I would suspect that front axle seals aren't created like rear axle seals.. but that's just speculation.
