8.4" AN stereo annoyances

Just wondering if I'm alone with these particular issues.
-when stereo is put on mute before shutting off the truck, it will always be on when I restart the truck regardless of if it is with the remote start, or in the truck starting it.
-I set the speaker balances to where I want it, and it is centred again upon restarting the truck every time.
-when I plug in the iPhone to use for music, when I hit play, it will play for about 1 second then pause again and I have to hit it a second time then it will continue to play. It does the same thing when I pause it sometimes, I'll t=have to hit pause a second time to stop it.

let me know if any of you are experiencing any of the above issues as well.

These are the only things that I don't like about the new truck, otherwise it is flawless so far and light years ahead of my 07.5 in interior quality and comforts.
The exhaust brake works considerably better than the 07.5 as well. We finally got enough dry pavement that I could safely use the tow/haul and full brake with my water trailer (7500#) and it is good. As well power wise it is better than the 07.5 on the hills even though it was chipped and modified in almost every way.
No need to mess with this truck for sure.

The "mute" issue is as designed, you must set the volume to zero if you don't want to hear the radio on restart.
There is an update that is supposed to correct other issues. Check for it in the link below:

you have to save your settings and tie them to the FOB. The mute issue is a problem, I dont see why they cant save that as a setting if they can save the input, channel, climate info, etc.

The very latest upgrade fixed a lot of issues with my truck n iPhone !!! Pain in the ear. To charge my iPhone i can plug in charging cord into dashboard usb plug under 12V converter. As long as I leave it plugged in it will keep charging, turning engine on and off, all day long. But if i unplug the phone from the phones charging cord end, and try to pug it back in to charge the phone, it won't charge unless i unplug the other end of cord out of the dashboard and back in??? I would have thought that as long as the cord is in there it would be hot !!!

I went through the menu and I already had the key FOB setting turned on. I don't know or see anywhere to "save" my settings. I obviously need to go to the dealer and see if I don't already have the latest, greatest update for it as mentioned above.

use the memory button on the seat. when you save your seat position, it saves the other info, sideview mirrors, climate, radio, etc... the FOB can be programmed to default to driver 1 or 2 settings. all of this is in the manual For example, I have one fob programmed for me, and the ther one for my wife. when we use the right fob, we dont have to touch anything, its all set up when we get in

I was just reading this part in the manual this morning when I got to work and did program the seat, but I'm not sure yet if I got the FOB done right. instructions are a little less than straight forward on the FOB part.

Yeah I agree, I got one to work on the first try and it took about 12 attempts to get the second one to work. I think the system is a bit glitchy. For as much as these bad boys cost they should work properly, consistently, and reliably!

The programing of the FOB must be done in sequence and not more that 5 seconds can elapse like it kind of states in the manual. It took me many attempts to get it set. Make sure you follow the directions exactly including turning off the ignition switch like it says too. Tuning off the ignition while in the key fob programing mode seals the deal as I recall.

The way that I read it I got that the ignition had to be in "lock" then press the seat memory button then the lock button on the key fob, all within 5 seconds. From what you are saying, the key should be on and when the screen says resetting driver setting 1, turn off the ignition while that is showing. Is this right? I'll have to go try that because after 20 minutes of getting PO'd tonight when I got home I gave up and just about threw the SOB FOB in the bush!!! I tried to set the other fob with a totally different seat position, then took that key to the house and got the other one and tried to set it with my settings and neither of them did squat. this is pathetic that they can't make these stupid trucks more user friendly. All the technology is there, in the dash to do so at no cost, just some geek needs to do it that they have on the designing staff. What a joke.
I'll have to try in the morning when the truck is warmed up again and I'm not so irritated. It's -15C/3F out there right now.#@$%!

I've been trying to download the update all week. I called monday because it wasnt working and they said they were having an issue with the download process on their website and to give it a day or two. Its been 3 days and its still not working.

I was just able to download it with no problems. Give it another try and if you're still having a problem send me a PM.

FYI... the changed their website so the updates download using explorer not that akamai software so if you were having issues, it should work now.
