Is anybody using the ez change drain plug and tube from genos ? If so does it work good?

I bought a used VW TDI with a Fumoto plug. I had never dealt with one so I actually took it off and played around with it. Very simple and reliable design, I don't think they could "fail" but it still makes me paranoid having something like that hanging off the bottom of the oil pan. Probably just paranoid.

I don't like the fumoto plug as I have seen them come open on big trucks before . the one I want has a plug and then you screw the hose into it to drain the oil I've seen them on big loaders so they must be ok and I really like the way they work just wondering if the ones genos sells are built like the industrial ones .

Not meaning to hi-jack this thread, just add a little info on the Fumoto drain plug, just added it to my truck and cut open a small hose clamp to fit the release valve to secure it, So that it doesn't work open by its self. I don't have a picture to show yet. Sorry.

Ditto here. I have a friend who maintains a fleet of trucks. He adds them routinely. Zero issues. I use the one with the horizontal outlet. My friend's used the EZ Drain for six years now without incident too.

I've had one for about 12 trouble free years and in fact just switched it from my '96 to the '98. It's the one where you screw in the hose and special fitting to drain it, not the little finger valve. I recently changed oil on a rig with a normal drain plug and was reminded of how much that sucks. Money well spent.

10 years on mine without issues. Get oil hot, drain overnight and with cold oil filter oil level is 2" down in filter and no oil mess to deal with when changing filter. I just bought a 98.5 4x4 and installed another one @first oil change. With the hose you won't have to worry about wind blowing the oil around as it drains overnight. Also eliminates the chance of stripping out the threads on the oil pan. No tools needed to attach the hose after install. No oil down your arm.

I have them on all 3 of my trucks. No problems what so ever. Only thing is if the oil isn't warmed up, they drain slow.

Had one on my truck since '07. I like it because it's easy and no mess. Also, you can use it for samples or to drain a small amount if you over-fill.

Had the plug and tube from Geno's, on every one of my trucks since '98. Handy as h-ll never had a mess on the ground. I change my oil wherever we are RVing. Own a 3 gallon waster bottle and take the oil back to where I bought the new oil. Hard to keep the waste bottle clean so I keep in in a large zip lock bag and clean it up every now and again. Also use a large 2 liter soda bottle with top cut off to remove the oil filter, after I loosen it with a filter wrench when it is full of oil.

Thanks or all th replies I I'll definitely order one for each of my trucks When I get a little extra money just changed the oil tonight And burnt my Hand with hot oil again . Every time I get a new genos catalog I wear it out in about Ꮤeek looking at all the stuff I want .
