BIG, Good write about the Audi experience. Nice that they were receptive to you and your concerns- doesn't always happen! Also post #39--- NO WAY you wrote that-- the editor for HOT ROD was over last night?

Funny what a couple of beers and a few pictures mailed to me by my Sister can do for the creative writing

Audi didn't do it out of the kindness of their hart, I think that when I pulled out a wad of Cash from my pocket ( literally ) that would have choked a horse and said, I THINK I LIKE THAT ONE!! Made a big difference in their attitude to close the deal. But we are MORE than satisfied with the auto.

Well we've accepted as Americans , MADE IN CHINA, Same SEX marriage,Presidents who DO NOT have ANY MORALS,allowed one person to take Prayer out of schools, people gasp when you mention Jesus Christ, Can't say the N word without someone throwing a tizzy, Now we can't call our trucks a Dodge, I will not bow down to any of these changes, sorry but I'm A Christian,an American and a Dodge owner!!!

Well Said!!! Amen.

I agree, the high point for Detroit automotive styling was somewhere in the late 1960s, But they are not making those cars anymore. There are some very nicely styled new cars available tho.. Just have to look hard. One of my race buddies bought a new Challenger RT, 5.7 6 speed car, it is much quicker than any factory 68-69-70 GTO, GTX or SS 396. AND will get over 28MPG on a long freeway drive,The new GM FORD and MOPAR V-8s will run 200,000 miles trouble free, try that with that beautiful SS 1963 Impala. I know that my 1965 Impala needed to be overhauled by 60,000 miles, needed bore, pistons, cam etc.

Everything today looks the same with the exception of two, one of which I would have a hard time getting in, a Viper. The Challenger is nice but I wonder??? how long is this going to last with all the plastic, the rattles and squeaks. There is more plastic every year. And another point is, at least I felt safe in my 67 SS 396 going 140 mph + on the 4 lane in Ohio. These trucks and cars today NO WAY. And if you pumped up the horse power to weight ratio on one of those 396's to match what ever the Challenger has, which would you rather have? Hell, could you imagine NASCAR today out there racing in factory off the line footballs like they did back in the 60's and 70's? Sure the engines were modified but for speed. Their lives weren't being put at rick because of all the plastic around them.

With all this MORALITY and Self Righteousness, somehow using the N word JUST DON'T SOUND RIGHT??? but its the USA Land of the free since September 22, 1862, declared the freedom of all slaves in any state of the Confederate States of America that did not return to Union control by January 1, 1863

But its alright for Crackers Like Me to call them N's ????? is that how it works?

BIG

PS: Can anyone tell me how to spell BIGOT?

I would HANDS down without a question rather be in a new Challenger (20010-2014) than a old one traveling 140mph.. The handling is so superior the chance of loss of control is much better, And the new car is MUCH more crash worthy.

How do you think the new cars got to the point that they are now? Not afraid of getting hurt are ya? everyone's got to go sometime have fun before ya do live a little. ;)

So Gonzo ya never wheeled a '69 Charger where the front end got (lifted) light to the point where it wouldn't steer? Yup- the books say that's 145-147. And that was with Radial T/A's.
Ain't nothing like old iron!

And now that I'm reminiscing about that car I don't think it said DODGE at all- Anywhere on that car. Only Charger and the delta symbol and of course a few pentastars here and there.

My former '70 Nova used to float at anything over ~110...not that I would know that first hand.

Yea I been there,(way back when) that super light floaty feeling is NOT GOOD!!!! I did not get that feeling with the New Challenger at all. Much more in control.

IN CONTROL is an illusion we are NEVER in Control with anything, just lucky sometimes!!

Agreed.. Good friend of mine inherited a one from his dad a few years back, as well as bought his wife a new one no long after that.. I cant say what one will do at 100+ , but i have rode in both at speeds up to 90 ish on the same curvey road, hands down the better handler was the new one.. I like old iron as much as anyone, still got many of the same trucks i or a family member owned as far back as the 60's and 70's.. As someone who works the snot out of a truck, i can say regardless of the brand and with few exceptions, the newer crop is better.. Especially when it come's to dodge's With 3 first gen's , 2 second gen's, and one 3rd gen, the trucks and it's running gear clearly got better in my experience...

No, nobody is calling anyone the "N" word, i was just stating a fact, Also Jesus Christ is the only RIGHTEOUS one, And for Morals, hard to find anyone with any of them anymore, I was Saved through the grace of God through his son Jesus, Not for anything that i did, because you can't earn salvation, If i had to earn it then Jesus came and died on the cross for nothing, And if i had to earn it , I'd be in trouble, i'm not perfect and never will be until i'm with the lord, and neither are you or anyone else for that matter, I'm not self righteous either, I'm just trying to help spread God's word is all, If you don't want to hear it, that's your perogative, and anyone elses, But in the end it's your choice to make, just remember after you die , there is no do-overs my friend, Good luck and God Bless.

I had my 2013 RAM up to 108 with the GN trailer behind (I was provoked) and she handled that 27,000# just fine. If I had ever had my 93 Dodge Cummins to that speed I would have had to hire 4 extra drivers just to keep it between the yellow and white lines.

And a better carb?

I think my brothers burned to the ground with a carb fire at about that many miles, like a lot of others with toilet bowls. Chris

Yes AND another carb. Same for my 73 Chevy 4x4, the 350 engine was toast at about the same miles (50-60,000) it was losing compression, oil pressure, heads needed to be rebuilt. Although that truck was a working farm truck., lots of hard pulls, and dusty conditions.

I know where your coming from Crazy H. I would love to have one of the little half ton diesel trucks but cant stand the thought of all that crap on the exhaust. I don't know why anyone would put them selves thru what the 4th gen section is putting up with NO THANKS!! Maybe if I needed a new truck and had no choice but they aren't getting any more mileage than my 3rd gen I have enough power for me, and with the extra cost of the DEF WHAT ARE YOU SAVING? and it seems as thou they change oil more than others do?QUOTE]

That is part of the point, "the thrill is gone" with the new rams. They don't sound like a diesel, they don't get the economy of what a diesel was, and the the smell and smoke is even gone that's to those kalifornia people can be happy who didn't like all that dirt???? And you are right with all the after burners and super heating melt down chambers, owning a what is called a "clean" (HA HA) diesel is no fun any more and a pain in the ***** with all of the problems of not being able to short trip during a "regeneration" process going on and extremely high exhaust turbo temps, and big long term problems from fuel dilution. I like running my Amsoil 15w40 Diesel Marine for a year or two never needing to add or worrying about fuel mixing with the oil.

All of the above in addition to >>>> there are no DODGE TRUCKS anymore! Something different 1/2 "ram" and 1/2 fiat. With what these new ram duallys cost I would much rather find a clean 2000-2002 PR4 Red 3500 SLT 4x4 QC and through $25,000 at it and have a real Dodge Diesel truck for the next 25 years, trouble free w/o def fluid:rolleyes:. Hell my 02 2500 still smells new inside.

Mine says DODGE on the steering wheel. De-badged on the outside, and what there is outside it says RAM!. Best of both worlds. I guess.

does your 2007 say dodge on the outside anywhere?

Neither my 2005 nor my dad's 2006 say dodge, they say ram 2500 and ram 3500. I believe 2004 was the last year they said dodge on them, they were still a dodge but it was starting to go away already.

I think the only place they say dodge is the valve cover.
look what i found
