I have a 2014 2500 4x4 CC short bed on order with the factory Gooseneck/5th wheel prep included.
Now to move my Super Glide from my 2002 to the new 2014.
At Hershey RV show last September factory rep Scott said I wound need Pullrite bracket kit p/n 4440. They developed this for the Ram 2013 2500, but he 'said' that it would work for the 2014 2500.

Yesterday, talking to the factory I got the shocking news that the 4440 bracket kit would NOT work for the 2014... that Ram changed something... (I thought the 2013 & 2014 frames were identical!!!) Anyone know about this?

Now they say I need p/n 4439 Adapter that fits the Ram box 4 5th wheel holes (for $600)
PLUS Adapter p/n 4409 that adapts between the above and my old hitch (for $313)
And my hitch will be raised up about 3 inches by these adapters!!!!

Grrrrr. Anyone have any knowledge of Pullrite and a conversion. Or any alternative sliding hitch that is reasonable? The automatic sliding of the Pullrite is really great, but is there a competitive auto slider?

Guess I should have ordered a long bed, but too late now and I really didn't want that!

Tom

It seems the rear coil springs changed something under the bed. Check to see if the Reese Picture frame fits the 2014 2500 with coils and if your hitch fits the picture frame. I believe the tab slots for the hitch to drop in and pin in the Reese picture frame are 22" front to back and 29" side to side. Chris

Thanks for the info, Chris. Hard to tell but the picture frame seems to be very similar to the Pullrite 4439 adapter. Price seems close too. May have to go with Pullrite since they have the other adapter 4409 that apparently marries the first frame to the Super Glide.
I'm now in contact with a dealer friend to cross check... Seems like a lot of yelling on the internet about this issue!

Hey T Mac,

Here's what I did: it's a Curt rail kit with a pullrite adapter. It looks a little complex, but it works great. Apparently the extra height added by the adapter is required due to the depth of the new truck beds compared to the old.

Sorry for upside down. iPhone!
