C8.3 fuel shut off solenoid

Ford fun and follies.

Hey ya all.

Didn't know where I should put this so I stuck it here...

I just picked up last Friday a 2014 RAM 3500 BIG HORN CC 4x4 in Maximum Steel with 3.73 Auto. This is my first CTD. Wife and I wanted to get a rig that could pull a 5th wheel without having to upgrade every few years cause we kept moving up in camper size. Got the biggest right off the bat. Totally loving it so far, even tho I'm just commuting with it currently.

Wife is already making plans for mods to it (nerf bars, brush guard, exhaust, wheels (really Honey??), etc) She F'n rocks! She's only 4'11" but yet her first choice is to get the exhaust changed. DAYM, how many wives think like that?

anyways, Hope I can glean a ton of info for my new family member to make her the best. WOO WOOT!

here it is...

Welcome to TDR. Beautiful truck. Which trans did you get, the 68RFE or the Aisin?

thanks. I'm not 100% sure about which trans I got but my guess and what the sales guy said is that I have the 68RFE. even checking the door doesn't help.

Nice! Proves that you just gotta have the right amount of chrome on a real truck!

thanks. I need to find some step bars that DON'T have those rubber/plastic pieces, are stainless steel, and have grippy steps. wife almost needs a ladder to get into the truck.

Beautiful Truck!

steer clear of the N-Fab Stainless steps. I JUST returned them to the manufacturer as they are NOT what they claim to be.

Your new truck looks to be a near exact copy of my 2013.. I have 10,000 towing miles on it (heavy loads) and it exceeds all my expectations by a wide margin.

interesting... was looking at getting the black steps. I realize my truck has a lot of chrome, but I do not want to add more to it. was thinking about Ranchhand steps and bumpers too.

thanks ya all. only got 300 miles on mine. love driving it when i get the chance. WOO WOOO!

From what I was told by the technical assistance guy at N-Fab, the black ones they actually build in house and have different brackets/support struts.
The stainless ones are NOT built by N-Fab. Its simply "BOX ENGINEERING" They are Smittybuilts with a manufactured in China sticker on them. N-Fab gets them shipped to them, they remove the SMITTYBUILT stickers off the box and put N-Fab over them.
My wife isnt much more than 100 lbs and when she put one foot on them they moved substantially. The only support them have is a metal clip dropped into a hole in the inner sheetmetal with a 5/16 bolt ran thru it.

Welcome to TDR and BTW nice truck, I'm sure you'll love her, and she is capable for sure. But don't let your wife step into a large Mobile Suites 5ver, or your upgrading to a 4500/5500. :-laf:-laf:-laf:-laf

Look to see if there is a PTO cover on the passenger side of the transmission, if so you have the Aisin if not then the 68RFE.

Kevin

The easiest way to figure out which transmission you have is to pop the hood. If the transmission dipstick is on the drivers side, it's the Aisin. If it is on the passengers side it's the 68 RFE.
