Thanks, TDR Staff

Anyone an Accountant? Simple Query?

R.I.P. Dee Cameron

I made a post that cant be seen because I made one already on the Freightliner Chassis?????

Anyway I went to the RV dealer and was told that a New DOT reg had come out. I can drive anything on the hwy except a bus for hire with passengers and a motorcycle both of which I want no part of with the Class A lic that I have now.

I was going to take a spin in the RV until I was told that I have to have an endorsement on my Class A for AUTOMATICS

I got to drive it but was told that I should up grade my lic if I wanted to drive another RV that's coming in a week.

Never have I heard such BS but I don't doubt it one bit that some moron in the Government has made a desision on something that they know NOTHING ABOUT!! WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST TIME

I was directed to a link by another Member, its calif that is trying or has passed a law that requires the endorsement of a Manual transmission, if all you have driven is an Automatic, I do know that some freight companies are running Automatics because drivers are not what they use to be. US Xpress, was just down the street from our terminal in So calif. they had Automatics because they had so many standard transmission problems from their drivers.

Big as a third party cdl tester it is now a federal requirement if you have a cdl [a or b] you are grandfathered in for std or auto but if you test now in a auto trans truck you will be restricted to that trans if you test in a std trans you can drive both hope this is clear as mud

I had another person on TDR send me a link about Calif having the new system in place or going to be put in place. I guess its all and good that they are looking out for the non-experienced drivers. You pop a stick out of the hole going down hill and cant get it back in one you can be in a world of ****. And just another way to make a buck for the DMV when you want to add an endorsement I think its $25.00, and for the Wally Thor driving schools it would be another 3 week course on how to shift a gearbox.

For any experienced drivers want a good chuckle? go to a truck stop and watch people try to back into a spot. Its not hard to figure who has been in the seat long enough to get it warm.

KH Thanks for the info, im glad I don't drive for hire any longer, ya have to learn some computer log book, cant cheat on hours, have to take breaks and lunch it ain't what I signed up for.

It's called the difference between class A and B. Class B endorsements are vehicles that are automatics, for example refuse or recycling. Many class 8 trucks which require class A licenses are offering automatics such as my new Mack Granite. My old mack has a 13 speed.

Class A and B have nothing to do with automatic or manual, B covers majority of bobtails within a weight range and A is usually for towing over 9,999 lbs with some RV and AG exemptions. You can have an automatic restriction on either one

Class A truck
Any combination of vehicles with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds (11,793 kg) provided the GVWR of the vehicle(s) being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds (4536 kg).

Class B truck
Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds (11,793 kg), or any such vehicle towing a vehicle not in excess of 10,000 pounds (4536 kg) GVWR.

You averaged 64 mph:eek: Ya hotroder:D

Nick

Yep!! try taking a 50ft bus, pulling a trailer with a car in it down 150 miles of mountain road, then ya get to stretch your legs until ya get to some of the bigger city's Salt Lake needs some road work and the drivers in Salt Lick are some dumb SOB's BTJMO from Tremonton UT to Spanish Fork UT there ain't much but CITY!! Seen more than our share of State Troopers in ALL the states. Somebody must have PO the ID troopers they were out in force, as were UT.

The most deliberate reason for the moderate driving was, when the Diesel fuel was FREE on our last trip we got 4.?? MPG this time we were paying for the fuel and we got 6.9 MPG and that we were in no hurry to get there, we have all the time in the world, its just the two of us. There is a bit of difference in stress doing 85 MPH vs setting the cruise at 65 MPH that I have never noticed before CAUSE I NEVER DROVE LIKE THIS, its actually pretty enjoyable to have a conversation with the wife, listen to music, eat some snacks and rediscover the reason that I drove a truck for as long as I did??? the joy of looking at the world go by in the windshield, a few tunes to drive by Nick Enjoy at ear bleeding volume level

Oh, come now, Big. You aren't old.

Ya know fester that's up for debate. Up-until yesterday noon we were the children at this RV Park. Im working on 61 in July and Penny is 56. We met a guy and his wife that are the self proclaimed Camp hosts they ride around the Park in a golf cart that looks like a 57 Chevy, others have a Humm vee, 56 and 55 Chevy a Thunderbird, Duce, Bronco and my favorite a Studebaker and a bunch more, there is a 9 hole golf course here, I think? at least there is something that resembles one it looks nice and green but not one of these golf carts have seen clubs on them ever I bet.

Most of these Geriatric aged people are retired and very well to do, last night we witness the weekly Golf Cart Drag Race Penny and I were the finish like judges because we were not drunk and the finish like was at our spot. The Studebaker won!! the rest of them said Foul cause he decided to have his company that has something to do with the manufacture and rebuilding of electric motors build a hot rod motor for his. We being the judges had to settle the dispute of the hot rod motor use, it took a few beers and we handed down the verdict, satisfied with our decision off they went to the Victory Party.

Penny and I were recovering from the Welcome to the Park, lets get drunk and meet and greet ya Party throw in Our honor. Which we found out later was total BS, that's just another reason to have a party. Penny at home can dance for hours and hours but she was worn out, the gals I have to think are just as rebuilt as some of the golf carts, their parts are not OEM at least ive never seen 40DD's stick straight out sharp as a pencil and rock hard against my chest when dancing with a old gal that has Obviously!! overdosed on Bovine mating hormones.

When we go back home, im going to have to question my Doctors practice of things, Im quite sure that Darlene while dancing gave me a COMPLETE PHYSICAL EXAM, including a Prostate and turn your head and cough hernia exam while fully clothed and dancing on the pool deck. Let me say that there is NOTHING!!! Darling about Darlene, There was another Welcome to the Park Party for some that came in yesterday, we were invited but declined. Penny said that maybe I should have gone so Dangerous Darlene could have finished up my Physical Exam with blood work and a Colonoscopy.

So ya Fester about your statement, Im not old yet but will need a vacation to rest up from this vacation if things keep up the way they are.

Nervous BIG
