Relocating Trailer spare

Maybe they were from California DA's office? Snoking

Didn't think of that :-laf

Ooohh Oooohh,

Double related to your story, RV's and B E A R S !!!

We were just N of the Blue Ridge PKWY for Memorial Day weekend and the view was stunning and just behind us was a bear paw claw on the tree. I know, ain't as big as your MT bear paws but hey, its real.

Gary

We have some small critters ourself Gary, That is sure nice looking country Pard. I can remember my Parents taking us to my Mothers home near Asheville NC
and Camping in the Smokey Mountains really nice country

But ya I think we have you's beat just a bit with the bear thing.

Just to prove it to some people Gary, our guys will dive in and pull them out of slumber and take some measurements TO PROVE IT. I still don't think that my Mules have forgiven me for that trip :-laf

BIG,

Smokies ain't the Rockies but they can be darn fine. We've been on top of Mt. Mitchell in NC at 6,683' and seen as far is it gets. NW SC, western NC and Va are our favorite get away areas.

I expected you'd trump my bear claw marks easily.

Bet you'll scrounge a bit to beat this, pizza cooked in a cardboard box oven. Runs at about 325-350 degrees easily. Same setup but with a 12" Lodge made an egg bake with 18 eggs for breakfast, pineapple cherry dump cake too. All gone.

Back to the RV'n trespassers.

There is something seriously wrong with you people out there. :-laf

That was actually a fun trip, I got a bit nervous when I hooked up the mules to pull them out. Its natural for them to smell the bears (cause they stink) and fear was in their eyes. They were brought in from a direction that they didn't see what they were hooked up to, but the smell was overwhelming.

A fun trip for helping a Nephew get his College Project done so he could be a Wildlife Biologist in Ecuador where he met his wife and now are back in Babb MT running that part of the cattle, and hoping to get a grant for a Wolf study. Trust me im not the one going in the hole, I had the quick release knot to cut loose the mules and a BIG GUN :D

Gary

U will have to compete with the wife on that part of the outdoors, she takes care of the food, I take care of the animals, and WE take care of the camp. I can cook well enough to say im not going to starve but its not as good looking as that Pizza or her cooking.

Trying to learn more about baking in DO's thats good fun and mostly great eating.

This is the after picture of the dump cake.

You know....the taking care of cattle thing, now that's more my speed. I'm sorta with your mules. I'd rather not be there.

Hmmmm. Dump cake. Can you explain that to a guy who works in a landfill? Seriously, I saw a book on it but what makes a dump cake so? I see the empty pan, so its gotta be good. And yes, I need to get back to the Smokies. Didnt get enough of it!

Wow, when my ex in-laws would come visit I'd just go out to the shop and lock myself inside until they left. Your method appears to work much better.

We have loonies here, too. A bunch of years ago, a couple of loud "gentlemen" who had been trying to create a shortage of Buttweiper, decided they would just squat here for a spell. After some "spirited discussion", one of them opened a shotgun case and started to slide it out. When he heard my 357 wheel gun rotate and cock, and heard my assurance that the local undertaker would wipe his exhaust pipe if it came any farther out, they decided that they would be doing extremely well to just shut up and drive on. Wayne,

Dump a can of pineapples and cherries into pan. Dump box of cake mike on top. No stirring. Liberally dump some butter on top. Dump into oven, bake and serve.

Ours made a sorta crisp topping out of the cake mix. At dinner, it got gobbled up.

Dutch Oven cooking as a side note, heck of a lot of fun and challenges too.

Gotta give that a try.

gtoli,

Might want to look for some real recipes, this was off the top as I remember making it. Funny thing is I don't dig pineapples but with the cherries and stuff it was darn good.

A little more prep and Triple chocolate surprise dump cake with nuts!
14-16" Dutch Oven with coal lid.
Two chocolate bundt cake mixes.
Dark Chocolate pudding, baking (semi sweet)Chocolate chips, butter, nuts.
Dried or powdered milk.
Depending on the heat, some aluminum foil to line the D.O.
I've made this in my wood stove (VERY HOT), on the bed of hot coals.
If necessary, line the D.O with foil (for a very hot fire)

Slice off some butter into the bottom of the D.O.!
Dump in the first box of cake mix.
Mix up the milk(in liquid form) and pudding mix (the extra touch).
(You can just dump the ingredients in as the second layer)
Pour pudding over 1st cake mix. Cover pudding mix with #2 cake mix.
Throw hands fufls of Semi Sweet Chocolate chips and hands full of nuts. Slice off butter and place at strategic places around the top.
Cover with aluminum foil (for high heat) and cover with lid!
Cover entire D.O. with hot coals!
About 20-25 minutes, uncover and check cake.
If it needs a little longer, recover D.O. and place back on coals without covering the lid with hot coals.
I haven't made this for a while but it will satisfy the sweet tooth of any one from 2-90 years old!
You may tweak the receipe to fit your likes and the heat source you will be using.
Enjoy!

Pard,

That's a great looking RV Park you have there. I'd like to make reservations for 3 days in the late fall.

Seriously, have you considered making an RV Park with a small part of the land? It's a beautiful area.

Wow. Pineapple and cherries are my weakness! I just put some in an bowl now. It sounds like it comes out like a upside down cake. I guess easy for camping. I'll be trying THAT!

Wayne,

One of the twists on my baking on our last outing, I did it in a cardboard box oven. I have one pic up with the pizza just finished in the oven. Charcoal is the heat source.
