My CD has quit and have been checking to see what is available. Found a couple of take outs but was informed that some radios have an antitheft code and thay won't work in a vehicle other than the one they came in. Any truth to this.?? bg

dunno, but my cd player started acting up several years ago as well. At first I was going to replace with stock, but found out that most of the stock cd players fail. Looked into aftermarket, but do not like the look of the adapter plate for the 06 dash. Since CDs are dying anyway, i opted for an AUX. cord and an MP3 player. Loaded all my music on it and got all the cds out of the truck.

That sounds like a good idea. I have found a few used radios but was afraid they woould be like mine. I am completely in the dark as to MP3, my radio does have the aux. receptacle. Thanks for the reply. bg

LOL, he means put it on an iPod and play it thru the radio. If you go aftermarket you can get radios with the aux cords and not worry about programming or the flaky CD players.

On that note, mine is over 8 years old and still works well. The quality in some of these factory stereos is questionable.

i bought a cheap mp3 player from best buy. connected it to my laptop and loaded all my cds into the mp3.
if you have a "smart phone" with one of the popular apps such as pandora or slacker you can also play it thru the aux cord.
I like the factory look on vehicles, too bad the 06 has the eyebrows around both knobs that makes it more difficult to get a factory appearance with an aftermarket head unit. Hence the MP3.

BGSmith, I have an oem RAQ 6 disc changer that came out of my freinds 2006...it worked when it came out of his truck, though it has been sitting on a shelf inside the garage for a few years....it's yours for shipping if you want it.
