03 no oil psi at start

After my 03 ( 380,000 miles ) sets and it is started the gauge goes up then alarm chimes and 0 oil psi. If rpms are increased to 1200 I can hear the engine tone change and oil psi at gauge goes up. I replaced the oil psi relief valve spring. could not get relief valve out with a magnet. Any suggestions ?

There isn't a real pressure gauge on the 03, just a switch and it could be failing.

I use Fleetguard stratpore filters. this issue has persisted/ worsened through 3 oil changes. I here an engine tone change as oil psi comes back up. It is like oil is siphoning out of oil filter. What do you think of sag2 reply ?

Sag2 Please explain.. sucking air from pick up tube? Have you heard of this on other 5.9s ? how would I check this ? Thanks

If you have a leak on the suction side it may not want to prime. Loose pick up tube? First thing is confirm the pressure with a mechanical gauge. Does it just take a while to come up, or does it stay low? Do you pre-fill your filters?
