Anyone have a recommendation for a supplier of less expensive parts? Less expensive than the dealership at least? I'm in need of an EGR cooler and am hoping to find one for less than the $900 plus the dealer wants.

Thanks for any help,

Ed

I checked Make It Mopar on line parts catalog and the cost for them is $1022.50 plus shipping; so if the dealer is only charging a little of $900 than that's a barging.

Go to a Cummins dealer. Less money and they supply the Mopar one anyhow.

Take your truck VIN or engine ESN to that dealer.

I am in transit to Mass right now to start on a project, but will be more than happy to look it up for you Monday evening so that you have some idea of Part Number and possible pricing. My pleasure to do so if you can wait until I have settled into my temporary digs in the Lowell / Chelmsford area.

Mike.

If you do not want to disclose your numbers on the forum just send me a PM or an e-mail containing either the truck vin (all 17 digits) or the 8 digit esn that is on the valve cover..

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the offer to help and if need be will be in touch. There is a good Cummins dealer pretty close to me, I've worked with them before but always seem to forget them as a resource. Now though the EGR is taking a back seat as it looks like my turbo is heading south. The ebrake is acting up and its popping codes, only about 380,000 hard working miles on the truck with little or no problems so I guess I cant complain too much. I'll pop by the Cummins shop, if I end up needing anything I'll drop you a note.

Thanks again,

Ed
