Truck is 07, 6.7. My Edge monitor shows regen starts for 2-3 minutes then drops out. This happens cruising with no stops. The Pre
diesel filter temp shows 500-700 and the DPF tempt. about the same. The DPF PSI rises to about 45. The overhead shows DPF 80% full, then 100% full and then back to 80%. A recent 2hr highway trip showed no regens at all. Am parking the truck. Still runs fine but am afraid it will quit suddenly. Where do I start?

Truck has 77,000 miles. All stock. Not sure what Dtc's mean. In the past when under regen the DPF would reach 1000+ degrees. Apparently the extra injection moment is not happening. I'm not sure what sensor or combination of sensors is/are responsible for this to happen.

DTC=Diagnostic Trouble Codes, you should be able to pull them, if there are any, up on your Edge monitor.

DTC p1451 looks like it maight be "evap control system canister vent solenoid cicuit malfunction".

As far as DPF cleaning, I understand it can be done professionaly.

Your definition is incorrect p1451 is dpf performance.I doubt you will be able to troubleshoot this issue as a diy job.

The correct way to clean the dpf off the truck is baking down the soot in an oven. Some have used water to wash them out creating a large amount of hazardous waste. A stationary forced regen can be performed at the dealership but the cause for not regening properly needs to be addressed

Thanks for the info. I'm a little surprised that p1451 is so broad, it seems there should be more specific codes thrown. At this point it is only telling me the truck is not running right which is obvious.

RDBuck, I just had my DPF cleaned at the dealership after the truck stopped running, this happened after a one hour run at 70 MPH. Dealer said DPF completely plugged, they use a computor generated stationary regen, my overhead console has never given me regen information and I figured it was happening passively since we pull a 12,000 lb fifth wheel a lot. The dealer hasn't a clue as to why the last run at 70 MPH didn't clean the DPF or show on the overhead console any DPF information. Anyone have a 2009 giving them DPF info out there ???

I cured my DPF problem by removing the unit and related items via a programmer. Truck runs really well this way. Without more specific codes I don't know what to fix.
