So I am thinking of selling my 04.5 3500 6speed dually flatbed truck. It is a laramie, with a CM flatbed on it. Good shape, 140,000 miles. Engine has some extras, update turbo, charge air, injectors etc,new tires,Dynatrac front bearings and locking hubs. Wondering what price range I should be asking??

This is a photo before the flatbed, I am keeping the wheels.

Worth whatever ssomeone will pay for it. Remember, banks usually will not loan on anything over 5 years old.

I would be think that I could get much more than anyone would pay for it if I look long enough..:) Thanks for the advise.

I was interested in the general price range of used good shape 04.5 Dodge Cummins trucks.. I dont know if it would be in the $10,000 or $25,000 range..

A friend of mine just got $30,000 for a 2006 mega cab 3500 SRW. It had 215,000 miles on it but he just replaced the injectors (Big Bang), clutch (SB dual disk), and new rear brakes with rotors. The guy flew out from back east to Oregon to buy it. He REALLY wanted a mega with the 5.9 and a manual. 5.9 with the manual trans are in demand, the duallys do have a smaller market though. I would really think $20-25,000 would be about right, more if it where a SRW.

It would help if you had a picture of what you're selling today. It should show exactly what the buyer is getting, no more and no less. Regarding banks, they'll only loan you money if you can prove that you don't really need it.

Unless you find the right buyer, don't count on getting anything for the "bombing" accessories - in fact, to the average buyer, they will significantly lower the value of the truck since so many sources advise buyers to avoid trucks with engine mods. I sold my 2002 ETH/DEE 3500 dually with 46K miles for $17,500 in September 2010, but that was significantly more than street value since it had some mods (Edge EZ, DD2 injectors, BHAF, Jardine 4" exhaust, South Bend CON/OFE clutch, etc.)

In my case, the buyer was someone I knew who had driven the truck from Arizona back to Texas towing our 5th wheel when I was unable to due to some pinched nerves in my back, so he knew the truck, how it performed and was buying it to tow his 5th wheel.

A dealer called me (again) last month and told me he'd give me a minimum of 15K for mine sight unseen. And more if it was in great shape!

As recent as last year I saw truck similar to mine with more miles listed for 30K on a dealer lot, which is what I paid in 07 for it with 10K miles.

I don't think I could get it private party, but dealers are.

Thanks for the input. I was hoping for somewhere in the $20-$25,000 range. I will pull the Kelderman air ride off of it, Install it on the 2013 truck.

It seems to me that there is a very limited supply of our trucks available for sale - and the demand is relatively high. I'm currently in the process of selling my 2005, and I've been surprised with the level of interest. Anyway, I'd check Kelley Blue Book ( kbb.com ) to get a baseline value for the truck, and I would suggest starting with an asking price slightly higher than whatever the blue book value is. So, that will probably be around $22k.

Based on the sale of my 2004 last year, I would guess yours will be in the middle of the numbers you mentioned, say in the $15-20k range. Getting near the upper end will require finding the right buyer and condition of the truck's paint, interior, etc.

FYI, I listed my 2005 truck (about 120k miles) for $19,000, and had it sold within 3 days. Had lots of interest at that price - and that's just from a posting on the local Craig's list website. Should have used a higher starting price....oh well, hopefully other people can learn from my mistake!
