Need a Qualified transmission Repair Shop

Anyone out there know of a good transmission shop near Pittsburgh, PA that knows how to work on the 48RE? I have heard to many bad things about some of the local shops.

I would whole hearted lay recommend a shop that is out in California. I live in MA and took mine out and shipped it to them. Best thing I ever did with the truck!
The shop is ATO Racing Transmissions and there was a beautiful write up online here from a fellow member. The owner Jim is old school, super honest, and a fanatic for his work.
Good luck in your search and if you do end up sending it out to ATO, you won't regret it.

what kind of money does ATO charge for a rebuild?

I looked at all the popular names, Goerend, Suncoast, HTS, even the purple ones and ATO was right there with them but when you see the type work he does, you really know you picked the right place.
I wanted to do it once and I wanted it right.
I just finished a 7600 mile trip with my 4,000 lb camper on the back and it performed flawlessly.
Peace of mind is what I had the entire trip.
