Is there a way to lock the doors on the 2007. 5 trucks with the engine running using the stock key fob? When I first start the truck it will allow me to lock the doors with my spare key while it warms up. However, if I move the truck, it disables the feature. If I leave the cab and want to unlock another door with my spare key, the truck will not respond. This stinks!!!!!

I had an '01 that would allow me to lock and unlock the doors all day long with stock key fob.

I can't speak from experience for your '07. 5 but would be comfortable assuming it can be done just like on my older trucks.

On my current '06 and previous '01 I always carry (ied) a second factory key for the '06 or factory fob for the '01 to lock the doors when I leave the truck running while I'm out and away.

Put the shifter in park position, set the parking brake, leave the key in the ignition with engine running, get out, close the door, and press the lock button of the second key. Has always worked without fail.

I spent almost three years on the road as an RV transporter with my companion, a female German Shepherd along and always preferred leaving the engine running while I made brief trips to the restroom. I wanted the heat or a/c running and figured a brief idle was better for the engine than a long cool down and another start up.

We have a Chrysler car that will not allow us to use the key fob with a stick unless the e-brake is set... we have no problem with a key in the switch on our 04, 04. 5, and 05 but have not tried it with the one piece keys... I'm still looking for a source for them...

With mine:

I use the Fob to unlock the truck, Start the engine, use the interior door lock to lock the doors, get out of the truck, manually lock the drivers door. Upon re-entry, I use the spare key (No Fob) to unlock the drivers door. There is no other door lock on the outside of the truck. Re-enter the truck and drive away. You cannot use the Non-Fob'd key to start the truck, unless I am not doing it correctly. Mine has the one piece key/fob. Hope this helps.

What a procedure to go thru just to lock up with the engine running!!! My F150 has the keypad on the exterior of the door. Punch two buttons and locked!! Wonder why Dodge can't do that??? And why did they have to combine the ignition key with the key fob???? What a chunk of material to carry in your pocket. Enuff gripes already. I'm done.
But thanks for the information and I will try it on my 06.

I don't know when the remote start was first offered, but you could use it to restart the truck after you exit. it will run with the doors locked AND wont shift out of park.

The remote start will only run for a certain time period, 10 minutes I think and it can only be cycled twice in a row before you have to start it with a key.
