So what should i look for on the 2015 if i am considering buying one . I have a 2003 that I love. I heard the air suspension is not avail. on the 3500??? Is the 2500 a better buy. What other features should I know about when I go in to price the 2500 vs 3500. Thanks

Your question is really open ended because it depends on what your towing/loading/hauling requirements will be. I'm no expert by any means but when I went looking for mine I was befuddled and amazed by the numerous packages and ways to order a new truck. I learned a lot by looking at the RAM site and viewing the factory build sticker on the vehicles that dealers have in stock. Your decision on a 2500 vs 3500 or a dually really depends on your needs. I had a hard time finding an 8 foot bed 3500 SRW until Joe Donnelly gave me some tips on searching by looking at the vin listed. And 2 wheel or 4 wheel? Lots of variables. The 2500 will ride better and has a good payload. The 3500 is a great workhorse.

I really like my 2004 for it's simplicity but it just isn't the truck the new ones are for heavy work.

Lots of moving parts on the rear end of the 2500 due to the coil spring set up but it definitely rides better than my 3500!

Mine was ordered with the rear air suspension (SEB). 10-08-14 As of Thursday (10-30-14) it was in "D" status. I'm hoping that doen't mean DELAYED!!
It was also ordered with dual altenators (XF7). which might come into play. My dealer assures me of "on schedule". Mid December.
It's a 3500 dually, Laramie Longhorn Mega, Aisin.

I am pricing a replacement for my truck with the air ride. What is the advantage of having dual alternators?

If you plan on running lots of high draw electrical items the 440 amps will keep up with the high draw of power. Things like running a hydraulic pump for a dump trailer, winches, lots of off road lights, inverters, bigger than normal air compressors like the Pac Brake 625 model on a high duty cycle etc. In my case it's a bit of overkill, but oh well, too much never hurts.

Ya, I'm just an electrical freak. I should have been an electrician! I'm always pulling something or running some thing off the truck, so just want to make sure I have enough to run everything including charging the fiver when towing. I know all the rant about the wiring being to small to take advantage of the 440 amps. If so I'll run a heavier wire to the plug and upgrade the camper, trailer as well. Nothing wrong with BOMBing the electrical system along with the power of these things!

I didnt realize you could get the air suspension on the 3500. I thought you had to chose between that and the aisin transmission but couldnt get the 2500 with the aisin and the 3500 with air suspension. Since I want the better transmission I guess my only choice is the 3500 and add the air. Any disadvantage of going that way vs a 2500, other than the extra cost

The 3500 is a more robust system then the 2500, from what I can see (in the 2015 brochure) and from what I've read sence hearing about it mid year.
It obviously hauls more weight too. The '15 brochure really explains the differences in the two.
If you can't get to the dealer, someone posted a link for a download of the '15 sales brochure on the TDR site.
