After 21 days straight of working 16 hour days and being completely exhausted, I snapped, ended up suggesting that UCONNECT must have written their CUSTOMER SERVICE SOFTWARE as well!

After 21 days straight of working 16 hour days and being completely exhausted, I snapped, ended up suggesting that UCONNECT must have written their CUSTOMER SERVICE SOFTWARE as well!
I dont think thats the latest and greatest... after the first dealership update mine would randomly come on on startup, although the seats ALWAYS came on LO and no way to adjust. when that software caused the SD card to fail to initialize I took it in and they loaded the newest software. It fixed the SD card but COMPLETELY killed the seats from even coming on randomly. They do NOT come on at all no matter how you attempt to program or preset them.
may be getting somewhere with this..... Finally got someone at the dealership on the phone with a software engineer at UCONNECT. A quick conversation got the ball rolling once the engineer checked the most recent software and realized that the last two software updates have completely eliminated the heated/ventilated seats and steering wheel from the AUTO ON submenu. Said that although the steering wheel was still visible it was not functional thru UCONNECT. Also confirmed that these omissions do cross product lines.
Also said there is something going on with the ability to program/select different trailers for the presets on the integrated brake controller.

mine looks like this and works when vehicle is started either using the remote OR manually.....
MeSeaHunt, can you show me how you preset your ventilated seats to come on HIGH when you remote start it?
i just have the box checked and when i go into the climate menu(or the one that allows u to turn on/off the seat(s), im not looking at it)i usually have them on low, then when i exit/shut down the vehicle the only thing i do is push the fan button to turn off the a/c(a habit i have as i believe it is a bad idea to start vehicle w/ a/c already on) then when i either remote start or manual start the vehicle i just turn the fan knob to on and the seats come back on to the last setting i had them on.... to be honest i wish they would NOT come back on automatically cause since they work on the inside temp they are not really effective till the cab cools anyways, so it is kinda a waste of fan cooling time?? i would rather have to go in each time to turn on myself? my pet peeve is; i wish the exhaust brake would stay on instead of shutting down ea time the vehicle is turned off!! if u push/enable the other buttons such as the aux or parking sensor they do not shut down and when u start the vehicle again they are already on/enabled, so those engineers did good in some areas and kinda not so good in others
dont even get me started on the mandatory gear ratio #@$%!
Thanks NW, but yours looks identical to mine so how do you preset it to turn on the seats on remote start.
lets say you want the drivers seat to come on HIGH HEAT when you remote start, HOW DID YOU GET IT TO DO THAT?
OR, say you want both the front seats to come on high ventilated any time the truck starts WITHOUT you pushing ANY buttons. What screens did you use to set that up? Im hoping you can answer ity cause RAM, UCONNECT, and the dealership cannot.
TODD, While I appreciate the the help, apparently you do not understand what is wrong with my truck.
When I originally bought the truck when accessing the AUTO ON and REMOTE START menu, there were 5 lines in that sub menu to individually tune the front seats and steering wheel. I KNOW these lines were there, RAM AND UCONNECT BOTH AGREE WITH ME ON THIS. Since purchase, my UCONNECT has received TWO software updates. The first software update removed four of the five lines leaving only the HEATED STEERING WHEEL OPTION. When I would start the truck (whether it be a remote start or local start) the drivers seat ONLY would sometimes come on LOW and other times not at all. I parked the truck in the AUGUST SUN here in Texas for several hours and started the truck, seat did not come on! With the truck cabin temperature above 120 degrees, it proves they are NOT BASED OFF OF CABIN TEMPERATURE!
After the second software update for my complaints about the seats and the SD card slot would not initialize it no longer even randomly comes on LOW............ They will NOT come on at all on a REMOTE start or a LOCAL start. Just so everyone understands, once I get inside the truck and it is running, I CAN push the botton on the dash or the softkey on the uconnect and the seats work. There just is NOT the option to have them come on automatically on startup. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with programming to a FOB either as confirmed by both RAM AND UCONNECT technical departments.
One of the main reasons for this thread is to try and determine if its just my truck or everyone who has a similarly equipped truck has the same issue. Whats making it worse is that many people do not realize they have a problem and think "thats the way its suppose to be" Software tech with UCONNECT has finally got into this ordeal and confirmed there IS a problem. According to the dealership service manager who has been handling this, they confirmed that several sections of the software were inadvertently omitted/deleted on updates.
Just out of curiousity, have you tried to change your "trailer type" i.e. light trailer, heavy trailer..etc.. lately? Not changing between trailers 1-5, but actually tried changing the type you have assigned to #1 ? say from light to heavy? mine WILL NOT CHANGE nor can I assign a blank trailer for light/heavy..etc..

My heated seats only come on if the outside air temperature is cold enough. Not sure what that has to be though, it's been below freezing only a couple of days now. Having the seats switch to vent mode would be great for the hot days. I wonder if it has to do with outside temperature as well, beyond the messed up programming that you seem to have?
I never was aware of the featured programing, And Yep I agree if you buy the truck with detail programing The Maker HAS NO legal right to remove it without a wavier notifying you of the change....That feature cost $$$ for the option I got only the 1 finger gesture for any maker when they try and tell you to go pound sand. Remember what Ford did to 03-04 6.0 owners on the quite idle they removed it with a New flash update BC the 6.0 was making oil at idle, The Blue Oval been screwing Owners for years and some are still drinking the kool-aid.
Wingate I'm curious if you got any resolution to this issue? After reading the post I thought I would check mine. First the 2014 EcoDiesel SLT purchased in June 2014 with heated seats and steering. The box is checked, the option works as intended, no complaints. Says I have version 13.51.11.
Then I check my 2013 CTD Longhorn purchased in April 2014 with heated seats and steering and ventilated seats. The truck has not seen the dealer since I bought it. I know when I bought it and set it all up the way I like the box was checked, for sure. There was only 1 box to check which was a combination check mark same as the SLT for heated seats and steering, only the one box to check, said nothing about ventilated seats. Anyhow the box was checked upon initial set up and now it's not. No problem, I check the box and as you have said after 10 or 15 seconds it unchecks itself! Tried numerous times since and it will not remain checked. Says this is version 13.38.52.
I stopped at the dealer today. They said it requires an update for the "radio", I guess she means the UConnect and a flash according to the VIN so it goes in Sunday. Just curious is yours yours fixed now or still having the same issues?

Patty, at this moment, there is no resolution and no plans to resolve it. The dealership brass, RAM engineers, Star technical, UCONNECT engineers, RAM Customer Care and I all agree this is an issue. Everyone agrees the function used to be there and has been removed (not by intention but by oversight) and everyone agrees the newest paper version of the owners manuals state it should be there. One engineer made the comment during a conference call that the owners manuals should be re-printed to remove the text from the manual.(WTH???)
I have also noticed that I can no longer set up different trailers and their brake controls any more. Nor can I delete some OLD OLD text messages that were in the 8.4AN before the last software update.
Wingate, here's my update, really nothing new to report. Strictly talking about my 2013 Dually here, has a screen exactly as shown in post #9 which up until this morning had 13.38.52 which as I mentioned "unchecked" itself and I assumed the function was not working. Went to take the truck to the dealer this morning, it's around freezing outside, hit remote start and the heated seat and steering wheel did come on despite the fact that box doesn't stay checked. Took it in as appointment was made and truck was due for another flash anyway. They upgraded to 14.25.5 and same thing happens, box "unchecks" itself but I just went out and remote started it and the seats/wheel heat came on automatically. I will assume if it was hot out the ventilated driver seat would come as well. If I recall correctly from this summer the ventilated driver seat did come on automatically.
As for your missing 5 lines of options to tune the seats I don't ever recall seeing that on this truck, not arguing the fact that you had it, I just don't recall seeing it. Mine has only one check box on the second line (all or nothing) and it only applies to the driver seat...select the option (even though the check goes away) and you get heated seat/wheel when cold out and I assume ventilated seat when warm out. Since you can't really check the box I assume the function is always on and will activate in the appropriate ambient conditions
I'm fine with mine the way it is but please revive the post if you find out more someday. Good luck.
