Driver's Side Front Door Won't Unlock

Winter Front Question

Passenger door got sprung around in the wind and now there is no space between the front of the door and the 1/4 panel. It was hard to close, and when gently forced open it chipped some paint and has to physically scrape past the 1/4 panel to open.

Are the bolts on the hinges slotted and if loosened it can be readjusted? is there an easy fix, or do I need to take it to a body shop? New hinges maybe?

I can't see a good pay to pry the door towards the rear as it seems to need to go.

Thanks.

I am thinking it bent the hinges. May also of tweaked the column or door attachment points. Look closely at opposite door to see if attachment points are tweaked (as a comprison). May require new hinges and a little masage of door or cab to get it right. Experienced body man would set you up.

You can try putting a piece of 2x4 block in the hinge area and push the door toward the closed position pushing against it (carefully) to try to spring it back.
We used to do this all the time when I worked in a body shop in a past life

I tried exactly this, but was afraid to give 'er much force. I assume it wouldn't take much to mess up the pillar or the door.
