The tires I have now are no longer available (TOYO LT285/75R17 tires rated at 3970). The highest rated tires I can find in that size are 3195. Does anyone know of a higher rated in the size? Thanks

I have read there is some federal limit on 17's to 3195# and that's why the new AT II's are lower.

The problem is the legality, even if they are identical the sidewall still says 3195.

My brothers Dynapro's are the same. He had one warrantied for road hazard and its 3195, while the other 3 are 3750. There wasn't even a tread/name change.

Based on what I have read/heard I would expect the Nitto's to change soon.

17's are the red headed step child of truck tire sizes.

Speaking of Nitto, interesting the 285/75/17 is no longer available in the Tera Grappler. They show them available in the G2, but are less aggressive than the original TG.

The G2 has the longer wearing tread compound just as the AT2's are touted to have.
I'm sure Nitto's phasing out the Terra Grappler.
18" tires now appear to have the higher ratings.

Itll be too bad if they're phasing them out. The original TG are about as mild a tread as I want, there's times where I wish I had a MT still but the TG work most of the time. The G2's look less aggressive on paper. There sure isn't much of a selection in 285/75/17 and it just got smaller.

I have the 285/75/17 version of these and they are super smooth on the highway. They have the 3900+ weight rating and the 34+ inch diameter helps mitigate my 4.10 axle highway performance.
Wet road traction is very good. My truck almost handles like a car with these. I would recommend them to a friend for sure. Tread wear 35000 or so with 5000 mi rotations.

Will I just installed the Nitto Dura Grappler tires and the Mickey Thompson Sidebiter II Wheels on my truck yesterday (Sunday). The tires are LT285/70R 17 126/123R rated. I am running the tires in the unload condition at 50PSI and when loaded the rears will be adjusted to 60 PSI. I can't believe on much better these tire ride compared to my LT265/70R 17 121/119E Michelin tires ride. I am using the Tire and Rim Manufactures table for air inflation numbers to support the given load.

These will be my summer tires for pulling my new 5er a Forest River Cedar Creek 34RL. With the Michelins being my winter tire using the stock rims.

Last Thursday I got the DW going about 70 on the 91 freeway in LA after I had just rebuilt the front end with the steering upgrade and new ball joints. I took to the shop and had a look and my front left tire was starting to separate. These TOYO's have about 50k miles on them so I guess there about time. I always get the warranty when I buy tires and American Tire gave me a new one. I decided to get the Dura Grappler G2 in the same size.

I don't recall reading about DW with Toyo's. Are you sure there isn't something wrong with part of the new steering?

The tire was ballooning on one side of the tread about 3/8" higher. If that makes sense. So much so that when the truck was rolling at idle you could feel it come up and go down.

They gave you a new one @ 50K? That's generous. My Discount Tire same as American always gives me the stinkeye when I mention the T word.
