Just checking to see if you are still alive after setting it on that white tablecloth........I would be chopped up and planted in a flower bed if I did that.....:D

I am curious where this draws the cold air from?

The opening on the side looks huge compared to the small hole in the fenderwell the OEM box draws cold air from.

That raises the question on which is better the small about from the fender liner in the stock setup or a larger amount without the rubber boot and drilling more holes on that side and bottom. The practice year ago was remove the boot and drill holes.

The other common thought was to not use oiled cloth type filters. So I went to a BHAF and later went back to the stock box drilled and no boot because of the BHAF noise.

I'm not sure drilling holes in the bottom of the air box is any different than running a BHAF. Your drawing in warm engine air in both circumstances.

How does the S&B connect to the opening in the fenderwell? Is there some kind of an adapter boot or do you have to enlarge the hole? Or does it draw air from the engine compartment?

the S&B fits closely to the fender inlet, i'm sure some eng.compartment air gets into the filter. the turbo is nice & clear if you like to hear it!

I have a SS sheld on the turbo. Snoking

OK I'm confused...are you running a BHAF or a modified OEM box? My comment above about drawing in hot air was in reference to drilling holes in the bottom of the OEM box. A BHAF draws nothing but hot air, a shield would help keep the latent heat off it but it's still going to draw a substantial amount of hot air in. I'm not so sure there's any benefit to running one.
